Now that was an awesome video! Just a little hint, down here in Brazil we usually attach a small assist hook, like the one used for vertical jigging, on the jighead. That helps landing more fish. Give it a try. Thanks bro

Have you thought about scent? I velcro a plastic bowl to the front of my kayak. I squirt some scent in it. Before every cast, I dunk it. Turns follows into bites and nippers into swallowers. When I get back to shore, I rinse the bowl then dishwasher at home.

6/26/21 I went to Oxnard with my cousin, and 2 of his bros. We had live squid, that's candy when they congregate for spawning. We limited out from 6:00 a.m. to 9:30a.m. All from 25lbs. to 35lbs. It was a 65 mile run from Oxnard to Santa Rosa Island. I personally caught 7 keepers but put back them as they were smaller. I lost 4, by unhooking. Epic.

@@sharsphootervideos With that charter, the owner moved his boat there From SanDiego area. At times of the around spring to summer squid congregate to spawn. Commercial boats get them. Most likely the owner bought them from the bait docks when they come in.

It seems like heavy lures are the worst possible thing for fish shaking the hook out. Whenever possible I would either put some distance between the weight and the hook or just use light lures. Having additional hooks in him also helps but not as much.

after you drag them away from the kelp use your spot lock feature when fighting the fish, it should hold you in position.

These are called Mulloway in Australia and nicknamed “Jewfish” on account of the jewel-like Otolith (ear bone). Very elusive and much sought after. They grow to over 80lbs

WSB aren't Halibut. I run that reel and a similar rod and they took me for a ride. You need 40 lb flouro topshot and a stiff rod to haul them in....

What a fun video tho dude. Good stuff. You and I share the similar attribute of fishing, when we fight a fish, the excitement is in the voice haha. I'm always like "oh yeah there's one!" Hey Adam, for nailing the larger WSB, try using a BIG pac mack (greenback) or sardine below the juveniles. Also, to keep them out of the weeds, use a good 60# line & a graphite rod. The really big seabass always hangout on the perifery, & good luck!!!

We got schools of jack mackerel that showed up in the last few weeks and the bite opened up. thresher sharks also showed up feeding on these baits

Yes, generally a shaker fish is any fish that is under the minimum size limit.
