I don't think the song is about guys not feeling anything, I think the songs about guys being better at hiding it and instead of letting themselves feel it, they usually hide it under bad behaviour and alcohol, but it's still there and they're still feeling it just as strong as girls do!

@KraypayJR8 жыл бұрын
Humaam eXile There's tons of topics you can do a song on without offending people tf you talking about.
@BloodDragonH8 жыл бұрын
+Kra88ypa77yJR That's not what I meant or said now was it? I said you can't do a song if the reasoning the topic is frowned upon is because not everyone acts like what the topic is portraying. Not everyone does act like one another so there's no one way to unite everyone that's just the fact of the matter. In this case him saying girls show their pain and guys try to surpress it as much as they can may not be accurate for everyone obviously but it's accurate for some people as some might be the opposite of what their genders is representing in this video. Now generalising is not the best thing to do this generalisation might just be what these singers have experienced. Even I mostly have girl friends who take time alone to mourn their loss and I have guys who try to distract themselves with other thing rather than deal with the pain. Majority of my crowd is like this but I do have the friends that is the exact opposite as well.

I truly love this song! He hits the nail right on the head with the lyrics. Women show their emotion like its nothing, where as men hide it with a poker face, but yet they're still hurting. Men do these things hoping to push the break to the back of their mind where as women it's the only thing they can think about. (This isn't saying men don't feel, they have as many feelings and emotions as a women does, but they're just better at hiding it)

I think a lot of the people who are writing angry comments didn't actually watch the music video. The whole point is that the guy wasn't ok. He tried to ignore his pain, and handle the breakup way up the way a "man should" (getting drunk, getting laid, acting like he doesn't care), but it didn't work. In the end, he was still miserable and not over her. The girl let herself feel her emotions and mourn the breakup, but was able to move on. I don't think its saying that men actually don't feel anything, but its more of a commentary on the stereotype of how men should act tough, and how its a bad thing. Or I could be reading way too much into it. That could absolutely be a possibility.

No, I'd have to agree with you. I don't think this song is saying one person or the other is bad in this (notice: they dont' show how the breakup happened) but more how we as men and women deal with it differently. There's some women who act more like the man in this in breakups and men I know who act more like the woman in this breakup. I think what this song was was partially to showcase how we typically deal and also show "hey, maybe we should let men feel and emote the grief of the death of a relationship instead of feeling they should "get over it".

I really appreciate the message of this song. Expressing your emotions and being sensitive needs to be normalized for men. Being told to "man up" and that stereotype of being tough is probably something that many men struggle with. We are human. We need to express our feelings. Not bottle them up. In the end of this music video, she's the one that successfully moved on because she didn't hide.

Different for Girls Dierks Bentley LYRICS She don't throw any t-shirt on and walk to a bar She don't text her friends and say, "I gotta get laid tonight." She don't say, "It's okay, I never loved him anyway." She don't scroll through her phone just looking for a Band-Aid It's different for girls when their hearts get broke They can't tape it back together with a whiskey and Coke They don't take someone home and act like it's nothing They can't just switch it off every time they feel something A guy gets drunk with his friends and he might hook up Fast forward through the pain, pushing back when the tears come on But it's different for girls She don't sleep all day and leave the house a wreck She don't have the luxury to let herself go (She won't call just to curse Found a wall she can punch When the going gets tough, yeah, the guys they can just act tough) It's different for girls when their hearts get broke They can't tape it back together with a whiskey and Coke They don't take someone home and act like it's nothing They can't just switch it off every time they feel something A guy gets drunk with his friends and he might hook up Fast forward through the pain, pushing back when the tears come on But it's different for girls It's different for girls Nobody said it was fair When love disappears, they can't pretend it was never there A guy gets drunk with his friends and he might hook up Fast forward through the pain, pushing back when the tears come on When the going gets tough, yeah, the guys they can just act tough So tough It's different for girls [x2]

I think people have their panties in a bunge because the song makes assumptions about gender norms in courting. Not everyone fits into the stereotypical behavior that the song describes. Rather than enjoy the cliche heartbreak country-pop song they are thinking too much about the meaning of it. None of these reactions are wrong. Everyone will experience the song differently while bringing their own personal baggage to it. Me personally, I like the song and I love Elle King. Guys feel great the first few days but as time goes on their hearts hurt more and more until months turn into years. With girls it's the opposite. In the first few days it feels like the world is ending but eventually they're just able to go on and leave what's passed behind. Men experience the most pain in it all I find

women try and try to fix things they put everything in to their relationship until they can't give no more and realize things will never change...we cry we hurt and put it all out there but then you have to move on. Then men, usually never listen. they never try when the opportunity is there they ignore it all in hopes that things will just get swept under the rug..that's not how it works. then we women leave and move on. Man finally realizes he messed up, finally stops to think and sees what he lost. making them take longer to move on. By the time a woman moves on she's over the hard part, but most definitely still care. We're not heartless

It states how dudes think they can fast forward through the pain by hooking up and showing him having fun, while the female is down in the dirt. Yet by the end of the video she's now with her friends enjoying herself and moving on as shown by ignoring the text(s), but he's down in the dirt because eventually the emotions that were "fast forwarded" through have to hit.

People are taking this as "guys don't feel" but in reality it's more of a guys push everything down and pretend they're ok without actually taking time to be ok. Guys aren't allowed to be emotional in today's society so "it's different for girls" if you really pay attention to the lyrics they're saying the guy is pretending to be ok but ends up hurt even worse than he started.

I don't think this song was supposed to be sexist, I think the message is that boys feel the same amount of pain that girls do, but they hide their feelings better, the song has probably been written based on passed experiences that the writers had, not every boy in the world. The idea that boys are happy after a break up but they eventually get upset whereas girls are the other way round (are hurt in the beginning but eventually get better) has been massively popular on social media in the past few years and could also be what inspired the song😊 I wouldn't take any of this to heart, it's just one persons outlook on heartbreak

I honestly lived this though. My ex said his cousins told him to go out and get laid. He acted like he didn't care and found someone in between our breakup and when I ended it he was already a month later in a relationship instead of working on himself and our relationship. This is one of a few like this. A girl has no choice but to leave.

Anyone who "listens" to this song and says it is poorly written and plays off of stereotypes is clearly NOT actually understanding the lyrics. The song does not say that a guy can just shrug off a relationship, go out with his friends, shoot whiskey & Coke, and pick up a random honey and all is well. It says that is what a guy will do to TRY and convince himself that his ex meant nothing to him, when in reality it is all bravado and he is actually just as upset about the breakup as she is. It is different for girls because they don't have that bravado escape. They talk about their real feelings with their girlfriends and they cry. Shit - look at the fucking video if you want to know what the song is really about. It's all right there ... the guy puts on a smile and goes out drinking with his bros, but gets too drunk, picks a fight, gets literally thrown out of the bar, and falls completely apart over his ex. This is a great country song and I love it. Thanks to Dierks Bentley for recording it and for having Elle King duet with him. This song just WORKS in so many great ways.

It's different and difficult for the ones that did want it to end and I'm not sure how it is for anyone but I just know that we all feel something either way and heal different and I pray for all of us

I understand the meaning of the song, but I'm a girl, and I was always taught to be tough.

Yea I think ive only ever been rejected by crushes and i literally pretend like it never happened. and sometimes sleep with some guy and never talk to him again its actually a pretty solid way to feel better. Havent done that in a long time but i feel you as a girl who was raised to never cry. And as an adult constantly misjudged

That's why they say we don't have the luxury of letting our selves go. Society doesn't allow women to misbehave like men. We have no choice but to keep putting one foot in front of the other.. Even when we are dying inside...

This is true for summer, spring & fall chicks Winter signs except earth don't break My sisters are Sagittarius and they can lay every man in their path and not feel a thing, they throw one kid aside and keep the other two because "they never felt like that kid was theirs" .... They have no feelings until someone points out their wrongs... Than we get told to not judge! I'm sorry winter men.... You have my prayers 😳

Both men & women born between April 1st and June 19th can't keep a hold of their spouses May 20th-june 19th are growth and favour compatible with fire but fire gets stolen by jealous jerk who thinks they are unhappy so they tease them if you will. They are emotionally and sexually compatible with January and drive each other nuts, earth never quits bugging air... They love to grow... Air signs raised by water signs, or have been influenced heavily by water are steam, steam propels hot water but hot water likes polarity and falls for snow! Spring air April 1st - may 19th Are very compatible emotionally with march snow & October earth, and can maintain hot water because they like to be warm! But fire is too much!

People are missing the point. From a guys perspective, he's forced to act tough. From a girl's perspective she's almost forced to fall apart. She puts out her emotions while the guy hides them. And it is drastically different for both parties. Since a girl is forced to show her emotions, she's gonna dig deep and find the ones she buried. Since a guy is forced to hide his emotions, he's going to have that strength to push them away and forget about or ignore them.

There are plenty songs for you men out there. Stop bashing a song for trying to make their point across and stop acting like the "victim," when your type is not included in something.

+Redex208050 You're so annoying I swear. 😂😂 Here's the difference, scumbag. Girls have to face double standards, are never treated the same as a man in almost anything and girls are sick of it and standing for what's right. I'm a male and I'm not close minded as you and many out there. I support them because I see how males, females, society in general treat women.

Pause the video at the exact moment near the end, where she is looking at her phone.... Zoom in on that. "I am nothing without you" "Why are you doing this to me?" She broke up with him, not the other way around. But it always seems to be the man's fault, right?

So many people getting offended about how this song makes men look heartless and how sexist it is and sooo few people who actually understand what the song actually means... Offended people, please, read the comments of the reasonable people in this sector and in the meantime I'll pray for you to really see what the song is about.... Ps. Being open minded it's a necessary condition while reading the comments who really got what the song means.. ;)
