This is from his "Requiem for my Friend"; a requiem he composed after his best friend, famous Polish movie director Krzysztof Kieslowski's untimely passing at the age of 54. For many people, Requiem for my Friend is a masterpiece at the level of Mozart's Requiem, if not higher. I am one of them.

I think it could be dark, in a strange mystical way. Imagine a glorious church on a gloomy day, stormy weather, while something very intense is (or might be) happening. This music could fit in so many movie scenes, beautiful or sad, creepy even.. it touches my imagination ^^
@FrenchToast6636 жыл бұрын
@@asokbiswas8225 It can be interpreted as dark because this is a requiem, a requiem for a friend to be exact. So, a requiem playing as the characters make their way to a wedding is sad and dark

This is so majestic, and at the same time so traggic. It truly portraits the scene: a happy prince Margaret being married, all the greatness and power in one ceremony yet, the person she got as life companion so dark and twisted.

Rex tremendae majestatis, Qui salvandos salvas gratis, Salva me, fons pietatis. Ingemisco tamquam reus : Culpa rubet vultus meus : Supplicanti parce, Deus. Dies irae, dies illa Solvet saeclum in favilla, Teste David cum Sibylla. O king of dreadful majesty, Who grantest grace and mercy free, Grant mercy now and grace to me. I groan beneath the guilt which thou Canst read upon my blushing brow, But spare O God thy suppliant now. That day of wrath and grief and shame, Shall fold the world in sheeted flame, As David’s psalm and Sibyl’s songs proclaim.

If you look up the meaning of the words, turns out this is actually a dirge or funeral song. I am fascinated that it was used as a wedding song for Margaret. Why?
@grabthemonets5 жыл бұрын
I mean her marriage was doomed. It was probably foreshadowing to the failure of the marriage that we see in season 3.
@sitamun75984 жыл бұрын
Also, in season 2, both Margaret and Tony were a very toxic couple. The audience was already very uncomfortable with their relationship and at the wedding, no one watching felt like this marriage was going to last.
@paulc30374 жыл бұрын
It was written as part of Preisner's Requiem For My Friend, a tribute to the wonderful, late, Polish film director Krzysztof Kielsowski with whom Preisner collaborated with many times. It's an album of two halves (the "Requiem" and a concept section called "Life"), both are astonishing! Check it out! :)

how people appreciate or care about good pieces of music only when its in their favourite tv show.....
@IrisC175 жыл бұрын
No one can possibly know all the music that exist in the world. We discover and learn to appreciate when we hear it for the first time. And that first time can be in an episode of a tv show. The're is nothing wrong about that.
