I thought when it runs out of fuel it does do a proper shut down but if power is disrupted the glow plug doesn't get the power to burn off residual fuel and floods for lack of a better term ?

Does using the 12 volt side use less power than the ac? My cpap uses 13 watts dc but if the inverter is used it really Jacks it up.

Having the AC inverter turned on, even without anything plugged in, still creates a wattage draw. Therefore, it is more efficient to run on the DC side.
