We're back! In this episode we will be trying to combine the two Jeep gladiators interiors and hopefully make one good one! Its time to kick this series back into high gear! We are ordering parts and starting the interior of my Diesel Jeep Gladiator! I started this build on BleepinJeep and have had one video about it on my own channel. I love working on this Jeep truck. Before long this diesel powered pickup will be on the trail and the om617 will be humming up the mountains of the Pacific Northwest!

Its been gone for over 35 years, but I loved my firewood truck. I owned a late 60's J3500. I was helping clear cut (for the forest service 20 year plan) a 20 acre abandoned hay field. The pine was sold, but before the fellows would come in an chip the pine, we cut all the oak and maple, they were less than 40 years old, so, stumped these trees, cut them to stove length. ( all less than 6", so no splitting) and loaded on my Jeep. I could carry aprox 1 cord of wet hardwood each trip. I cut sat morning, unloaded sunday to my wood shed. Did aprox 8 cords a year for the 5 years I lived in that home. Only heated (in Northern New England) with firewood.

I bought a 71 jeep pickup back when i was 13. I really wanted to restore it but after 7 years of set backs and it sitting in my fathers garage, i made the decision to pull the plug on the restoration. I got to about 35-45% of the way done with a full restoration on the truck. But moving on to the military after high school and the scarcity of parts in Alaska forced me to sell it. Ever since then, my goal after my time over seas is up and i make my way state side is to build a jeep pickup to be a weekend off-roader that doubles as a tow pig for my 87 Suzuki Samurai tin top that I purchased here in Italy. I also plan on making a youtube rather soon about the samurai and future builds I do.

I have a particular fondness for FSJ's, as my very first truck (and first Jeep) was a '78 J10, and I've put the OM617 into a Comanche (my second Jeep truck). Pretty excited to see how this turns out watching your videos has helped me immensely in the decisions I’ve had to make building my Jeep. I’d also like to say I’m so envious of you and what you are doing, to be able to just work on building your rigs on your own time not stressing yourself out to do work here and there after a 8plus hour day of work or on Saturdays is literally a goal I’m striving for. You could technically peel off the plastic from the original dash and there will be metal underneath it, but there will be patch work involved if you were to keep it. I did that to my 79 wagoneer and it worked out smoothly.

I'd give my left arm for that parts truck here in WNY! I just pulled it a Gladiator grille setup out of a Wagoneer in the junkyard here and that's about all that was left of the truck that wasn't completely rotted away. I'm always amazed at the west coast tin that passes for parts cars when on the east coast they would be prime build projects. I have been enjoying the Lowbuck Diesel build. Yes! Back with the lowbuck. Also, wanted to thank you for going into the issues with the dash swap. I've been trying to figure a good solution for my Wagoneer and was really going between finding an old one from a donor or trying my own version of a CJ inspired dash from scratch. So, I'm really glad to see you going down this path. In the 3 years of so I've been kicking around on this project, I've yet to find a good resource (or any) on dash swaps or custom dashes in FSJs.

Great video as usual. You were calling it a halo, but thats the main hoop you welded to the floor plates in the rear. Halo is what runs off the top of the main hoop and circles above your head (like an angels halo), and the a-pillar bars come up and tie into it, you didn't actually do a halo with the style of cage you built since you took the a-pillar bars right back to the main hoop. Great job none the less.
