i have uk invincible 2012 i changed the injectors and fuel pump but it cuts off after few seconds or sometimes after 1 min if im lucky, the error code thats coming is injector drive circuit bank 1 error, though current is coming to the injectors ,i dont know what could be the fault as the injector drive drive we tried from other vehicle but behaved the same

I had the same problem on a Land Cruiser 1kd-Ftv it was the suction control valve causing a complete non starting issue and the occasional cut out while it was driving.....it’s a complete pain in the ass because it won’t throw up a fault on the diagnostic computer.

Large fuel leak is usually injectors check injector feedback values with diagnostic anything close to 5 is bad ..also check pressure valve at back of fuel rail for leakage

Pressure regulator is on the back of fuel pump as per the video (Pink cross) and pressure sensor is on fuel rail. Google images will show you what they look like so you can locate them.

@@Notstoneage Yes. SCV (Suction control valve) fixed with two bolts to the back of fuel pump regulates fuel pressure. It is cylindrical and has an electrical plug running to it. Fuel pressure sender screwed into front of fuel rail measures fuel pressure and sends reading to ECU.

May have to check fuel rail pressure after sitting then on cold start up and then running and go from there. For this it could be time to get it to a good Diesle shop with diagnostic equipment. Not sure where your located but I know a good place in Melbourne.

Would need to get it to a diesel fuel specialist and see if it’s holding good fuel pressure in the rail both on standby and while running and go from there.

@@sandilengema428 No. it’s a mechanical fuel pump. The fault code is probably a generic Toyota fuel system code. It will have electrical sensors measuring pump and rail pressure. If the engine management system can’t maintain target rail pressure it will throw a fault. Apart from changing fuel filter there’s not much you can do at home. Your Deisel shop will be able to read fuel rail pressure with engine off and then while it’s running and see what’s going on.

If the check engine light is on. First thing would be to check what fault it’s recorded. You’ll need a OBD2 scanner or take it somewhere that can plug in and read the fault for you.

Hi Mansour. Could be a number of causes for either of your problems. (Not starting) and (Low power) A diesel mechanic will systematically work through eliminating variables from most likely to least until they zero in on the problem. Would need to connect the car to diagnostic interface and check fuel pump/rail pressure, Boost, Glow plugs, sensors, fault history and current faults ect then you can move on to carboned up manifold and low compression ect. Also you shouldn't need to "'press the throttle'' when starting any diesel. Sorry couldn't be more help but a mechanic would need to spend some hours with the car to get a clearer picture.

@@detlyn we have already made the diagnosis but it indicates nothing no failure. however the hilux lacks power and it only has 100,000k. I changed the diesel filter, the pump and the injector. do you think the pedal can do that?

@@mansourismail2525 Ah ok. The pedal is fly by wire so you’d have to check on scan tool to see if it’s getting 100% throw but unlikely that is the problem. I’m assuming you coded the new injectors? At 100K the inlet manifold shouldn’t be carbon’d up enough to cause major dramas. Need to check fuel rail pressure as per this video. It shouldn’t fluctuate much on idle and under acceleration or when parked up it should hold pressure too. If it doesn’t maybe suction control valve as in this video. Also check if it’s making boost 13psi approx. maybe turbo actuator problem. Need to hook it up to diagnostics to check these things. Also 33 inch tyres sap the power.

Diesel shop can do a cold start fuel rail pressure test and see if it leaking down over time when the car sits. Injectors or suction control valve maybe? They will also check rail pressure is not fluctuating on idle among other things.
