Furthermore coal is burned to make the electricity for EVs as we haven't built a new nuclear power plant in decades. The "green" energy scams (that funnel vast amounts of money to Chinese interests) like wind and solar dont produce enough energy with enough regularity to support the population switching to EVs. Its not even close.

I'm from California and I can assure you Newsom is full of shit. Example, Newsom wants all electric cars, ok, who is going to pay put hundreds of chargers at every apartment building ? Since the state is so damn expense, a 150 unit apartment building will have 2 adults that drives cars, that means the EV charging genie will need to install 300 chargers. Tesla super chargers take 450volts PER CHARGER, so which home owners that like next to the apartment building is going to lose their homes to eminent domain so power sub stations can be built to power the chargers? Don't even getting me started on all electric houses and electric semi trucks. This is the greatest scam ever perpetrated on man kind. Since Newsom signed policy to make the resale rate for solar panel generated power generated by residential owners to basically pennies per kilowatt, the solar industry in California has lost 60% of the solar companies and jobs in a 10 month period because consumers stop buying solar! Remember this, Newsom wants to be President more than anything in 2028, hopefully the country wakes up to what a fucking disaster that would be for the country.

I live in California and in my opinion the Governor has run this state into the ground. Our gas prices are the highest in the country. Not to mention the insurance on our vehicles and the property insurance is ridiculously expensive. I own a 2020 F-350 diesel that I tow my Fifth Wheel with and all be damn if the State is going to take it away from me. I often ask myself why I have to stop using perfectly good trucks and equipment? It's been paid off & not getting ROI but forced to buy replacements only to have to do it again every 3-4 years because of the way they incrementally phase in the laws. CARB works in concert with an enforcement arm the air pollution control district APCD (the air police) they drive around checking to see if you are in compliance, mostly dudes in their early 20's who don't know what real work is. The reality is that modern engines are already clean enough, there is not a smog crisis like San Fernando Valley from the 1950's but these regs are designed to inflict financial harm and stymie business growth. I believe this is a long drawn out plan by globalist and communist types starting in 1970 when the EPA was created by president Nixon. Months later in 1971 Henry Kissinger, Nixons secretary of state made a secret visit to China for talks about opening trade and the Taiwan situation. The US politicians thought that by doing trade with the CCP they would taste prosperity and change to a less authoritarian government, but as time went by, the opposite has happened and our politicians, especially Democrats have become more auhoritarian like the CCP. For centuries befor the communists, Chinese government policy used bribery as a strategy and nothing has changed. In the 1970's were artificial fuel shortages, energy crisis, Ozone holes and talk about an imminant Ice Age, which was a thing but now is censored. In 2015 the Paris climate accord was made. In 2018 the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change produced a "special report" on carbon cycles postulating a bogus crisis with the arbitrary goal of Net Zero carbon emmisions by 2045. Many actual climate scientists dispute the findings but that is censored. The Green New Deal etc. These are globalist unelected appointed supposed experts rubbing elbows with God dammed communists. Who stands to gain by all of this electrification anyway? China. If clean energy & environment was the real objective why do the inventors of free energy devices or 100 mpg carburators never heard from again? This climate tyranny is about to end here in the US. I’ve been in the trucking business for 34 years we need to stop letting California make the EPA rules. The biggest problem is LA, which is open to the ocean on the west side and surrounded by mountains on the north south and east side, so all the pollution from other countries coming through the jetstream gets trapped over LA. That is the problem they’re never going to be able to clean up the air like they want so they put these restrictions on things they control.

Reporting from behind enemy lines here in Northern California. I had a pre order for a CyberTruck, my company fleet uses Tesla Model 3s for client site visits; yet I just skipped the CT and picked up a 2024 King Ranch HO Tremor. EV’s can be convenient for around town cars but they aren’t built to tow. I do 500mile days when heading out on vacation and that would be a nightmare in a EV Truck even if it could handle a 20k# 5th wheel

I can agree and disagree at the same time. When towing, I completely agree, diesel is a far better option. I also feel a combination of diesel and the Ram Charger concept would be terrific if they can actually produce it properly. A truck with a full electric drivetrain with a range extending generator. An EV 90% of the time with 200 miles of EV range while having a generator engine to extend the range to over 800 miles total combined. Gas I think is the wrong choice for that vehicle, but you could essentially have a diesel electric train for the road. Now granted, I have also driven an EV over 1,300 miles in a day(not towing), it just comes down to charging speed. So I disagree with EV is for just around town, but totally agree with your towing scenario.

As a Cali resident for most of the time since 1959 when I moved here with family, I am disgusted with the developments here caused by the progressive politicians like Pencil Neck Newsom. Trying to force the market toward EVs when they are so not ready for prime time in so many instances is just infuriating. What you do is let the market decide when they become the superior choice. Get an EV truck to tow my travel trailer, you say? The ridiculous100 mile range would not even get me to my fav camping spot on a full charge and charging stations are few and far between there. Take the EV truck, or an EV SUV to my vacay home about 300 miles away? I likely couldn't do that on a single charge without severe range anxiety and that's without one of the frequent traffic back ups that happens on I-15 between L.A. and SW Nevada. So, get back to me when I can tow 400 miles on a charge and take no more than 5-10 minutes doing so.

Given unlimited funds and available skilled labor to do the job I am not sure we could build out the gird to support this in that time frame. I'm NOT saying A grid capable of supporting every single tractor trailer going EV and every single excavator, loader, and dump truck let alone all civilian vehicles is impossible, I am saying in this time frame I do believe it is. The number of nuclear plants needed, and all the red tape that goes into ANY power station being constructed, let alone nuclear, would likely take a decade of courtrooms just to start. EV is a beautiful alternative… some day in future, Not Now. We should be looking for alternative solutions, develop them and improve… maybe 15, 20, 30 yrs will be more alternative energy. Just making alternative energy has a higher carbon footprint: EV batteries, construction and operations of Air Generators, and solar. All great off the grid for some uses, but not a replacement. As of now, Airplanes, Ships, Military… no emissions and the majority of emissions. A handful (6-12) of the Huge Ships emit more emissions than all the trucks. If US Diesel had higher cetane like European and other Countries, its emission is less and often less than gas. Many other Countries have little cars with diesels due to efficiency and less emissions. Alternative energy is a must to develop, but don’t push it onto society way before it’s ready and not until it’s better operating solution.

This guy seems to be ignoring supply and demand. There has to be an EV to fill that vehicle market. In the case of gas/diesel, if there is limited demand, prices go down, like what we saw during the COVID-19 lockdown. In the case of EV vehicles, if there is no heavy-duty EV alternative, then they can't go that route. Think heavy-duty government vehicles or the diesel market. Is there an EV alternative? If not, that will bring one of the largest economies globally to a standstill. If there is no exemption. For heavy duty vehicles, RV, emergency services vehicles.

I'm not a huge fan of EVs, I do own 3 V8s ranging from 1965 to 2020. My concern with single issue (diesel engines) discusses, is you end up missing the forest for the trees. Much of what the US imports, rest on the high paying jobs here that create the high dollar exports the rest of the world buys from the US. If we lose that position as the default country to buy high dollar, high tech items from, it won't matter what type of engine they are selling, because most of us will be able to afford it. "Freedom of choice" is the dog whistle for market chaos and short-term profitability. Getting Americans educated on how China is able to help cell phone part manufacturers develop and produce whole electric cars within a year that are higher quality than Tesla, with more features than a Mercedes and costing $41K US, while it takes an established US auto manufacturer 5 years to develop and produce a new model and the quality isn't great and it starts at $60K, well better prepare people for what we're up against in the next 11yrs.

@ as technology advances, I believe we will totally be able to do that. The ICE engine did not get to where it is today overnight. Battery technology will advance and mature over time. The generator is just going to be a stop gap to bridge the transition of that technology and infrastructure.

I will never buy Electric have diesel, F250 to pull my camper, full time. And I won't visit California. I am 20 minutes away from California, and I will not visit, or buy an electric truck. They don't make them for towing. A d how many electric Semi trucks are there? Only company that makes them is Tesla, and that is in testing, only.

The sad part is my friend and I have invention prototypes to make gas mileage be 10 times what it is but I've tried to reach out to Elon on X we don't know who to go to with this idea to benefit mankind and we're not trying to get killed before it actually comes to fruition

Ram was developing 2 trucks: a total ram 1500 electric truck and a true hybrid truck with a generator charging the battery pack and running the axles. The demand is for the RamCharger something I myself am very much interested in

I think if I were a hauler going to California, I'd just buy a bunch of half ton trucks or gas 3/4 ton trucks and trailers for em and haul that way🤣 BTW, California just needs to be their own country at this point.

Manufactures don’t have to stop making diesel , just don’t sell to California. They can continue to sell to the rest of the USA . California will just paint themselves into a corner and we can watch and laugh .

Other states will follow what California does. In WA state for example, your new vehicle has to comply with CA emissions requirements.

They are in control to set their own regulations. It is just whom else decides to follow. Car companies will as they are not going to produce cars for only one specific market as it does not work for economy of scale production.
