Crossbow, of course. If the UK also uses 5160 for automotive suspension universally, then it'll be easy to grab a leaf spring, forge it to shape, and spring temper it for the arms. Or go primitive and use some of that famous Yew. Or go prison style and use newspaper and glue. All could fit your aesthetic. :) Great work as always, bro.

Onur, You used your voice thingy, and the explanation was very crisp and clear, the volume was perfect, interesting little build, to bad the arrow didn't penetrate the squash. Thank you for taking time to film, edit and post this video.

Have you thought of using crossbow bolts(arrows), they are shorter than regular arrows. Possibly cut your regular arrows down to more manageable lengths. Love what you make.
@DiesInEveryFilm Жыл бұрын
Thank you, the length wasn’t an issue it was the elastic which was overpowered but it’s a prototype for a future build I explained in a pinned comment

That's a nifty little bow. Clever idea, making the design a hybrid conventional/slingshot bow. If you were to do it again, do you think that an arrow guide of some sort could be helpful? Or would it just get in the way? Also, I enjoyed the narration. It felt a little more instructional. Your humour still came thru, as well! 😆

It also helps to use some kind of cutting fluid when drilling through metal. Makes the bits last longer too. You could just spray or pour it on, by that makes a mess, it's better to use a rag or brush with that, it doesn't take very much.

We are glimpsing a true artist at work, Improvising like a jazz musician in a smokey bar. Fun Stuff! Seriously, I learned welding at age 50, only messed about with it while living on a small ranch. Watched in awe as the instructor TIG welded bits of a soda can into a dainty mug with a handle... Meanwhile, I can't help noticing the textured gloves make it look like our host is one of the Lizard People...

DAohhhh... the premise is utter brilliance it's just springy metal feels like it would be a good idea but as you know it doesn't have the spring speed of polycarbonate or wood so if you were to remake this with really strong polycarbonate....OMG, lookout
@DiesInEveryFilm Жыл бұрын
The spring steel wasn’t in use in used that as it had a good curve to it and would be right under tension to oppose the elastic which is harpoon elastic and was way too stiff for this type of style but it’s an experiment for future ideas

LOL -I guess your teacher said you had skills when it came to facial expressions... LOL P.s. You are the perfect example as to why I don't wear rubber gloves. at 8:15 I laughed out loud when you wiped the epoxy with the ONE finger that wasn't gloved up! :D
