Recently I welded a sledgehammer with a special wrench on the end that assembles and disassembles when I need it. You were my influence to weld the scrap metal all together 😎👍🏼👍🏼✌🏼

I Iike this build. Beautiful piece. Reminds me of a spade we used on the job called little bitty. Whole thing was made out of 1” round stock with a D handle and a long shovel blade. Would cut through asphaul. Best digging tool we had till we broke it. We re welded it until the temper was just destroyed. Gonna build another one one day. Love the channel sir. Carry on.

I only worked in a shop for eleven weeks, and I never stared at welding long enough to hurt my eyes. Even so, I still tend to look away from someone welding for fear of getting eye burn. That would be a tough ax. I imagine that it's fairly heavy, but it would do the job. I'd probably dip the handle in some kind of rubber covering and try to texture it.

very cool idea. I actually have a double bladed axe head in my shed that I have been wondering what to do with. how well does that steel handle absorb shock when you hit something solid? looks like it would vibrate a bit more than a wooden axe handle

The dimensions on that one look damn near perfect. It really worked out well. I think I may have the fortitude to run some beads in my underwear but I'd be damn sure to be wearing something as close to pure cotton as could be found first.
