I was also often sick and very weak as a child, so my mother always coddled me, but once hardships appeared in the form of worsening mental health, I decided to continually challenge myself through physical activity and education. 3:07 Its important to note when the gun is laying on the floor between them, in this instant it has become an honorable and fair duel. The fact that it was a very duel like situation and not just any old kind of violence was important to the "fire in the eyes" awakening thing. I think Araki is trying to say something about how abuse messes up kids for life. But in this Jojo version of it, the encounter messed up Ringo not in a sexual way but in a way where he became addicted to death matches.

Being bed ridden and weak. Being unable to protect those around you and never learning certain life lessons due to health issues. Self Isolation & wanting himself and others to be better, and not being limited by societal standards. Not wanting to be weak and conform to society. I relate to this character a LOT, maybe not ideologically- but comparing our lives. Even his power- reliving encounters/events and optimizing your reactions to be your best self, is definitely a reference to his nature, however I also have some self canon/projection about this based off of my own past. I believe this ability is also referring to the PTSD that people with fatal illness AND assault survivors experience- reliving their past- and possibly desiring to change that. That last stuff is pure speculation and headcanon- but still :) Great video.

If you do, I'd love to see you do a video on Rikiishi Toru, who in my opinion exemplified the idea of The True Man's World. I don't think Ringo's idea of "The True Man's World" is a philosophy unique to him, it's more of another way of explaining becoming completely focused on what you want, without being hampered by moral restrictions. Ringo's "True Man's World" is living life as a gunslinger, that's what he wants. I don't think Gyro is aims for the same kind of thing Ringo does, Gyro isn't a killer like Ringo points out, even if he becomes okay with it by the end of the fight. Gyro's "True Man's World" is teaching Johnny I like to think, the only thing that made him join the SBR was Marco, he wouldn't of otherwise, teaching Johnny is what he wants to do.
