Diet in Depression :
Depression biological theory tells us that the main reason behind depression is decrease in amount of Serotonin in Brain. Various Antidepressants usually increase the amount of serotonin in brain and hence bring the antidepressant effect. Antidepressants helps in the formation as well as delays the breakdown of serotonin. Serotonin is produced from the precursor Tryptophan. Tryptophan is an essential amino acid. Amino acid is the building block of protein. Essential amino acid can not be produced by the body and hence it should come from food. Tryptophan is an essential amino acid which should be taken from food and ultimately makes Serotonin in the brain. Hence Food which contains higher tryptophan ultimately helps to produce higher Serotonin level in the brain.

डिप्रेशन ( अवसाद ) और खानपान :
डिप्रेशन के अधिकतम थ्योरी साबित करती है कि डिप्रेशन के पीछे की वजह सेरोटोनिन की मात्रा का मस्तिष्क में कम होना होता है।
सेरोटोनिन कौसे बनता है।
सेरोटोनिन को नैचुरली कैसे बढ़ाये।
सेरोटोनिन Tryptophan से बनता है।Tryptophan एक Essential Amino Acid होता है। Essential Aamino Acids वो प्रोटीन के इकाई होते हैं जिसे शरीर स्वयं नही बना पाता। Essential Amino Acid को शरीर Food से प्राप्त करता है। ऐसे में यदि हम Tryptophan rich Food लें तो हम सेरोटोनिन की कमी से बच सकते हैं और साथ ही साथ डिप्रेशन के चान्सेस भी कम हो जाते हैं।
Tryptophan के स्रोत:
शाकाहारी : टमाटर, अनानास, गाजर, दूध की चीजें, काजू, बादाम, अखरोट, सूरजमुखी और कद्दू के बीज।
मांसाहारी : टर्की, चिकन, अंडा, मछली।

Thank you for a valuable advice about depression.I have been talking a low dose of "Sertralin 25 mg" for last One year, according to Doctor's advice. In the beginning, 50mg of the same, I was taking . As you advised, would I be able to drop this medicine, if I take veg.article according to your advice regularly? Please reply. Sadar pranam.

Doctor.... Does low level of serotonin causes shortness is breathing.... Am an alcoholic for 12 years but gave up 2 months back due to appearnce of problem in breathing... My blood, lungs, heartbeat, we're all fine as checked... Am under Thiamin medication... I just want to know whether deficiency level of serotonin could lead to shortness of breathing and anxiety...
