@@MenopauseTaylor HELP ! I'm 53 years old. I've had hypothyroidism for over 15+ years with stabilized levels while taking my Tirosint thyroid medication, but my GYN put me on vaginal estrogen cream last year due to vaginal atrophy, and then although I never had or have hot flashes or any menopause symptoms she thought that since I had a partial hysterectomy 25 years ago; she then put me on estrodiol patches 2 x week so I used the patches for about 3 months and my thyroid levels went out of control so I had palpitations and a number of ER visits in which they told me that estrogen can interfere with thyroid levels so due to the palpitations they suggested I get off the patches which I did 2 weeks ago, but now I have a HIGH level of anxiety and panic attacks several times per day soooo they put me on Buspar on Monday. Along with Xanax during the attacks so as you can see im a big mess now. How long do you think the patches will get out of my system so that Hopefully my thyroid, palpitations, anxiety will go away ? And is there anything natural I can eat or drink to help my body recover and heal from all this ? I know HRT is good for many woman, but sadly in my case it wasn't a good option for me. May I ask: why or how is it that soy increases bone density more in neck/spine than hips? Just curious. Thanks for another great video.
@MenopauseTaylor
@MenopauseTaylor 11 ай бұрын
Nobody knows. And remember, only a lifetime of soy intake makes any difference. And the difference is not an "increase" in bone density. It's just "maintenance" of bone density. This means it helps prevent bone loss but does not replace bone lost in post-menopause.

Dr Taylor, is sparkling (carbonated) water, such as San Pellegrino, a problem for bone health as well? Is it the carbonation in the soft drinks, or where does the phosphorus that’s problematic come from?
@MenopauseTaylor

Sparkling waters generally do not contain phosphorous. Carbonated water is water that has been infused with carbon dioxide gas. Unless there are other minerals added, carbonated waters do not increase bone loss like carbonated sodas do.

Welcome aboard to "Menopause Taylor University." You'll find that if you start at the very first video (going by the number after each title), you'll understand absolutely everything. And you'll be shocked at what you didn't know, and delighted that you now do know. Each video builds on the last. It's just like school: You had to learn the alphabet before you could read. And nowadays, there are so many overwhelming misconceptions that women mistake as facts ... that you just don't know what you don't know. I respond to all comments here on KZbin daily. So, I will answer all your questions ... but I'll also know if you aren't watching the videos in order. (I'm like your mother. I have eyes in the back of my head!) And if you need me to help you tailor anything to your personal situation, you can schedule a one-on-one consultation at MenopauseTaylor.ME any time. I do them all online. @@MenopauseTaylor My doc that gave me my recent Osteoporosis diagnosis (I'm 58, -3.1 spine T-score) specifically told me to STOP eating dark leafy greens especially spinach., as well as all high-oxalate foods. He said oxalates bind to the calcium and prevent calcium absorption, and even worse, can actually pull the calcium out of my bones. Can you please speak to this? I have been on BHRT since shortly after meno started with good dosage of estrogen. My MD's exact words were "your osteoporosis is most likely caused by your plant-forward diet".
