My entire family from my father's side had diabetes, except that one guy who was eating meat even for breakfast and everyone thought he is nuts, he died at 97 without dementia or high blood pressure. My mother with zero history of diabetes, but following the standard "healthy" diet of oatmeals, yoghurt "low fat" desserts" and the occasional sweets, prediabetic! I am doing carnivore and they would harass me that I will "soon get a heart attack" until I stopped bringing up the subject, they are too brainwashed to put two and two together. Edit for typos!

Same situation for me. My family continually tries to sabotage my way of eating. My sons V.A. doctor told him to increase his fiber with oatmeal and cut out red meat to address his high triglycerides. I just busted out laughing, which made him mad. Now he's demanding I get my triglyceride levels checked, as he believes I'm headed for a heart attack. I feel like I'm back in my 20s and feel great! By the way, I'm 64 1/2. I don't discuss my way of eating with them anymore and I take my own food when I visit. I'm so happy that my little sister and her husband are giving it a try. I'm so proud of them both and hope they are successful. My older sister and her husband still believe his doctor when he says that red meat causes my brother-in-law's gout. When I sent her your video on gout and the carnivore diet, she literally told me that if their doctors don't say it, they are not listening. So why should I keep trying to show them that they are wrong as they just don't listen. Is it a lost cause? Thank you both for the great discussion and interview. All of your information has been a big help in my success with WOE. Dr. Berry, I took your 90-day challenge and started on March 18, 2024, and converted after seeing results in my first 5 days. My story of low carb. Hubs (T2 for 15 years and on 3 diabetic meds, one is insulin) was prescribed a CGM by his endo and told to eat the diet recommended by the ADA. Since I am a Googling, low carb eating Geek, I convinced him to eat 20 grams of NET (total was asking to much of him) carbs a day. A1C went from 10.2 to 6.4 in 90 days. He’s convinced it’s the way to go. He’s almost cut his insulin out. It saddens me that so many people are told the wrong thing about eating by their trusted health care providers.

When I was diagnosed with diabetes my doctor sent me for one visit to a dietician. I was given an example menu of what I should eat. The “diet” contained things like potatoes, bread, fruit, etc., along with other foods of course. It was not low carb at all. The endocrinologist that I saw simply told me that they would control my glucose levels with insulin and pills so basically I ate as I always did only with insulin to lower my high glucose levels. I gained weight because of the amount of insulin that I was injecting. I already had osteoarthritis in my knees and degenerative L7 and L8 from a MVA a few years earlier so cardiovascular exercise was no longer an option. When I found (on my own) the effect that carbohydrates have on the body’s glucose levels I decided to go on a keto diet. I lost a lot of weight, got off insulin, and began to be able to get around much better despite the back issues. The extra weight had put pressure on my spine and it caused a lot of pain. With my weight being normal again after several years of gaining weight it was like being set free. There are a lot of industries making a ton of money by giving Americans slow poison and bad information.

I knew he would never get well or get better on that plan so I devised one of our own, eating low carb, interesting meals from scratch, basically keto. So while in the hospital I stopped eating the pasta, the bread, cereal and fruit. I kept asking what is going on, why am I being given all these high carb foods. From what I saw, I was on fluid restriction but I could have all the carbs. I did notice that my breakfast they started loading up my plate with eggs and sausage. But there was still 50grams of carbs on the plate as well and what ever was hidden in the eggs and sausage. A year later now, I have started to make progress on reversing my diabetes. I have a life time of damage to recover from. I was never told or even suggested that a low carb diet would help, I was told a low fat diet will absolutely help (ignorance). It will take time to ween off of all the diabetes meds and low carb/carnivore-ish is my path to reverse my diabetes and loose weight.

Haven't been to the doctor for anything in several years. Thought i was invincible. Got me a rotisserie chicken and two boxes of broth chicken broth. I guess I'm just going to keep riding it out still got the diarrhea.

I have tried long term fast to help reset my blood sugar. In October and December i went on a 15 day water fast. Both times after 7 days my blood sugar dropped below 100 and stayed between 73 and 90 for the rest of the fast. Just finishing a 5 day fast and plan to stick to a meat based program. Using my body as a lab to test these things out..

Our country needs a list or network of LOW CARB doctors, nurses, dieticians, that can practice without worry of losing job, funding, or punishment for actually HEALING people. This needs to be available for everyone to choose which type of care we want; NOT what big pharma or the food industry wants.

I lost 227 pounds on Atkins, then Carnivore. A friend who was 100+ pounds heavier told me he "would rather die than stop eating bread." And sure enough, he died a year later.

I had a friend who ate an extreamely carby diet, even though he remained skinny. Cereal as an afternoon snack and 3 jars of candy on his shelf. He told me he'd rather die than not eat chocolate. Developed type 3 diabetes, died six years later.

I’m on the carnivore diet and have told my friends that if I died going home, it would be with a smile 😃 on my lips, because I feel so good! Not going out having my toes and or feet cut off, if I can help it! I run with the Old Dogs, and try to be a Role Model! I’ve lost over 50 pounds, since I started, and I’m 💯 % disabled! No Olympics for me! 79 years old!

My mother in law had a massive heart attack last spring. Her doctor sent her to a cardio rehab program that included nutrition classes. They put her on the Ornish diet. No meat, no fat. She was told that canola oil is the best oil to use for heart health, but only small amounts on occasion. She has been borderline diabetic for years but does nothing to monitor her glucose levels (though every time she's hospitalized, they regularly check her sugar levels). Her "nutrition class" pushed eating whole grains while totally ignoring her glucose levels.

I went low carb in Oct 2021 after being diagnosed with diabetes (now successfully remitted). The doctor sent me off to a dietician (I'm in Australia) and she wanted me to complete a 3 week food diary. I told her straight away that I was eating low carb. As soon as she saw my diary she said I wasn't eating enough carbs. I can remember being surprised when she said I could have oats for breakfast. It was at that point that I didn't bother taking much notice of what she said. Last week I found the suggested meal plan. I've only shown the breakfast: Breakfast: 2 oatbrits _or_ 2 cholesterol lowering weetbix _or_ 3/4 cup Kellogg's Guardian _or_ bran/oats _or_ Special K Advantage cereal _or_ 2 grainy toast + 1/4 avocado _or_ 1 Tbspn peanut butter _or_ cottage/ricotta, light cream cheese, Jarslberg. What do I have for breakfast these days? a one egg coffee (there is a recipe for it on Neisha's channel, but I have it frothy)
@kimdorcy515021 күн бұрын
I have been following your advice from watching your channel and last week I had blood work done with my physical and my results were excellent in everything, no prediabetes, BP was ideal......I have been actively paying attention to the foods I eat and excluded seed oils and cut out most of the refined sugar although I did have some holiday treats. But on a daily basis I eat whole foods as much as I can, cook at home and avoid drinking my calories so I drink water and a coffee in the am . I used to smoke and eat honey buns everyday and coffee with sugar and flavored cream all day long. Since changing my diet I am healthier in every way and haven't smoked a cigg in over 4 years. When you feed your body the right things and stop poisoning yourself it is amazing how quickly your body responds and how much better you feel , how well you sleep and how mentally you are better able to take on the challenges in life. Im excited to feel this way but it should be the norm for all people. I have a friend who was born with type 1 diabetes and his doc said he had 5 years. He was lost for just a second but then got down and educated himself then took control of his eating and all the supplements he was taking. He found all the hidden bs in his food and discovered the vit he was taking came from china and that it wasn't what it was supposed to be. Today he has many more years to go and his blood work looks like somebody who is pre diabetic. He showed m e his paperwork he was so excited.

I JUST saw a dietician yesterday. I was diagnosed type 2 about 6 months ago. I have been working-on my own- on eating like I have learned from you and from a lot of research , as well as getting a lot more exercise, since my diagnosis. I have lowered my A1C and I’ve lost almost 40 pounds. I feel SO much better ! The dietician wanted to know what I had done…. But wasn’t really a fan. She says I’m not eating often enough (2MAD) and I NEED carbohydrates! I think I’ll stick with what’s working.

My dietician keeps telling me to eat 3 times a day plus 2 snacks. Saying my plate needs to be half veggies, then a quarter grains and then meat. She also said a high fat diet was bad. I don't listen to her.

So if they're able to be wrong about something blatantly obvious as nutrition, what other medical claims are they wrong about? What are the implications of this line of reasoning?

Key takeaway, "I got suspended from the hospital twice." A hospital would not have a patient with a blood sugar of 400, they would have corrected that the first day without the dingaling. Blood sugar responds very quickly within an hour or two.

Michelle, you are one of the few sensible dieticians I have heard of. Makes me wonder if you have to answer BS questions the way they want it answered when you take a test… just to keep up your accreditation.

A year ago I was still saying, “All things in moderation.” But having angina and triglycerides going in the wrong direction, last year I had 1 artery in my heart 70% blocked. I cut out sugar and refined carbs against AHA recommendations started eating more meat and fat. All my blood work is in normal range within 6 weeks. I cannot list the many ways I feel better just 7 months later. I could list a half dozen+ books I’ve read in the last year and they all list sources that support all that you are saying.

Shocking. Keep getting the word out. I was a fat kid, a fat adult and now a normal size senior thanks to Keto. HBP, pre-diabetic etc since childhood are now normal. The establishment is harming patients.
