Difference between Main bars & Distribution bars

This video shows difference between Main bars and Distribution bars. Main bars are provided to take the bending stresses, while distribution bars are provided to take the thermal stresses due to temperature variation. Main bars are always provided at the bottom face while distribution bars are provided at the top face of main bars. Main bars is always longer in dimension while distribution bars are always smaller in dimension than that of main bars.
