Thank you! Your video is so informative. I passed from tretinoin 0.1% to granactive retinoid 2% and results are very similar, including irritation 😂 it really seems that those two are similar.

How long have you been using the 1% Retinol? To me, it often seems like the Retinol in the serum might no longer be active, as its efficacy can diminish quite quickly-especially if it has been stored in a hot place. I'm not entirely sure which one is more potent; this would need to be tested to confirm.

I've bene using The Ordinary Granactive retinoid 5% in squalane for 3 months, applying it every day but only on the right side of my face: no irritation whatsoever, but i cannot see any visibile improvement, the right side of my face still looks identical to the left side. Still too early to tell, or does it mean that granactive retinoid is not effettive for me? Should I go with regular retinoid 1%? Thank you

I believe the timeframe for the experiment isn't long enough, although the concept is excellent. I've conducted similar experiments in the past with comparable results. In my experience, it seemed to fade acne somewhat faster, and there was a slight reduction in breakouts. However, I'm not sure if this was a coincidence. I'm also uncertain about its effects on anti-aging. Therefore, I would recommend continuing the experiment for at least a few more months before making a final assessment. If you decide to continue, and remember our conversation, please do let me know about it. It's interesting!

@MassimoBolognaItaly
@MassimoBolognaItaly Ай бұрын
@@rosehiver6262 Here is my update. I have consistently used this product for more than 6 months (probably almost 8) only on the right side of my face, but I haven't noticed any improvement, no difference with the left side (that was untreated) was still visible. For this reason, I have stopped using it. About 4/5 months ago I started using 2 different RetinAl serums: - Geek and Gorgeous retinal 0.1% , only on the left side of my face - The Ordinary retinal 0.2% Emulsion, only on the right side of my face They seem to be more effective, especially The Ordinary 0.2% retinal serum: I can only apply it every other day (1 or even 2 days off before using it again) otherwise it starts "burning" my skin (burning sensation) and my skin gets dry and looks more "empty" (wrinkles appear), but it recovers quickly when I stop using it for a couple of days. The G&G 0.1% retinal does not causes irritation to me, so I can use it every day. Now my skin looks a little more hydrated and sliiighly more "plump" then before (do not expect huge improvements !), and the right side (where I use The Ordinary retinal 0.2%) seems to have improved a little more then the left side (the skin looks slightly "thicker", so to say). Before starting to use creams, I was hoping to improve the sagginess of my face (I am almost 60 years old) but now I think that no cream/serum can fix that; probably all you can get is to improve a little the esterior look of the skin itself, sagginess depends on much deepder layers (fat and muscles of your face) which are uneffected by these products. That's my experience so far.

Hey please reply 🥺Can I use granactive retinoid and tretinoin together (like on alternate days ) But I fear the two may inhibit each other and both become useless ? ((Google says tretion stays in system upto 1 day and granactive upto 15hrs. So I wonder if using the two on alternate days would work or not)) Have used both . Tretinion tightens skin and granactive retinoid gives a very shiny texture. I want both 😭
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet Жыл бұрын
It is generally not recommended to use Granactive Retinoid and tretinoin together or on alternate days, as both are forms of vitamin A and serve similar purposes. Using them in close succession may increase the risk of skin irritation and sensitivity.

Hi! I’m using the ordinary granactive retinoid currently. Can I use tretinoin next without using retinol completely? Since you said tretinoin is much strong. I have dry skin, small pimples on the face, dark spots, blackheads, open pores. And I’m on my mid 20s

Thank you so much for this video! I have watched some of your videos since yesterday as I find you giving information with so much research behind and because I am finally thinking of starting to take care of my face and use the appropriate products. I would like to ask some suggestion about how to treat my skin. I am 26 and I am seeing a lot of fine lines around my eyes. I am thinking of including tretinoin and A313 in my regime as I have ordered these from Italy. I have combination skin (?): it can become very oily with makeup on but also extremely dry to the point of itching a lot in certain areas after makeup if I have used Epiduo 0.1/2.5% the night before (which I have been given from the GP in UK). I have PCOS so I see acne on my face regularly but not exessively because I don't have products with milk or lactose. I also can't have sugar, fried or gluten for other health reasons so that might contribute to why it's not exessive even when it's there. I have been reccomended some Me+ products from Superdrug in UK: - Me+ Hyaluronic Booster 30ml because my skin is so incredibly dry, but it didn't really work for me. - Me+ Salicylic Acid with Cica Booster 30ml for acne spots, not sure if it's working because I just started. It sure makes my skin dry though. - Me+ Vitamin C with Squalane Booster 30ml for dark circles and blackheads I have but I don't think it's working. I clean my makeup with Simple Water Boost Micellar Gel Facial Wash 150ml. I don't use a toner and use any basic night or day cream after the Me+ products and NIVEA UV Face Shine Control SPF50 (50ml) during the day. I am looking for a moisturiser for appropriate hydration as I use Epiduo sometimes and I am thinking of including A313 and tretinoin. I am also thinking about what to do with my dark circles and blackheads but these are not my immediate concerns just yet as I don't know enough about these topics. It would be great to have any soft of feedback or reccomendation from you.
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet
@MelissaVanDijkTheSkinDiet 2 жыл бұрын
Hey! :) So, either use your A313 cream or go with Tretinoin; however, don't use them together. One of them is enough. Your Vitamin C is more like an oil and not so much a Vitamin C serum. Also, I don't understand why this serum should help with blackheads. Salicylic Acid and/or Retinol may help to reduce blackheads. Still, depending on how stubborn your blackheads may be, it's best to extract them with a tool. AM: - 4%-5% Benzoyl Peroxide Cleanser or Gentle/Regular Cleanser (but you could also alternate between them) - Eye Serum like The Ordinary Argireline (for fine lines) or NIOD Eye Serum (for fine lines and dark circles) - Hydrating Toner and/or Essence - Sunscreen PM 1: - Regular Cleanser - Hydrating Toner and/or Essence - Salicylic Acid Serum - (Optional) Moisturizer like The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors to strengthen your skin barrier PM 2: - Regular Cleanser - wait for about 15min. - Tretinoin or your A313 treatment - (Optional) Moisturizer like The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors to strengthen your skin barrier or PM 2: - Regular Cleanser - (Optional) Moisturizer like The Ordinary Natural Moisturizing Factors to strengthen your skin barrier - wait for about 15min. - Tretinoin or your A313 treatment I hope this helps :)

I’m confused on the difference between retinol and Granactive retinoid. So is Granactive better? Since it causes no irritation, but does that mean it’s weaker than retinol?

Personally, I would stick to tretinoin and not use the granactive retinoid, as tretinoin is the more proven treatment. Introduce it gradually into your routine by starting slowly. A simple frequency guide to start with tretinoin: Start with a low concentration (0.025% or 0.05%) and apply once a week at nighttime for the first 2 weeks. If your skin tolerates it well, increase the frequency to twice a week for another 2 weeks. Gradually increase the frequency to every other night or nightly as tolerated, paying attention to any signs of irritation or dryness. Application: PM: Clean your face with a gentle cleanser suitable for your skin type. Pat the skin dry and wait 5-10 minutes for the skin to fully dry. Apply a pea-sized amount of tretinoin, avoiding the eyelids, corners of the eyes, corners of the nose, and lips. Wait 10 minutes for it to dry. Apply a non-comedogenic moisturizer on top.

There aren't any studies on Granactive Retinoid...other than Estee Lauder's own study...(based on what's somewhat available for the public)...so if you want to go based on research, I recommend Retinol. On the other hand, if you have sensitive skin, try out Granactive Retinoid, as it is supposed to be much gentler! :)
