Good video sir. 👍. One important note. 1. When getting renovation done of old house, make sure demolition person is the same one who plasters for even surface, and lays tiles. If not, demolition person will not care, and neither the person who plasters. You have to micromanage them to make sure they chip old surface properly or make it even. 2. All contractors for renovated house prefer cement, because it is the fastest and cheapest for them. Plastering and preparing for adhesive lengthens the project for them as curing of plaster is required which means 2 visits over multiple weeks. Delayed money in pocket. Someone has to cure the plaster in between as well. 3. With new house plaster is ready. Matter of fixing tiles. Blindly choose adhesive as it reduces weight on floor and wall. Also easier for demolition in 20 years when renovation needs to be done. I told my civil contractor to use adhesive for bathroom but that person was adamant and used cement for 2x4 wall tile. Within 2 days, 2 tiles are already hollow sounding. Bathroom size also shrink by 2 inches on either side and that is significant for alteady small bathroom. For utility area, I have been adamant and told him to go exactly with my guidance. Demolish properly and use adhesive. But when I did not pay attention for a few hours they did not scrap putty and put plaster over existing paint in some places. Frankly, they don’t care. So, take care and micro manage. One question to you sir. How to make slope in bathroom floor for renovation ? Plastered floor should have slope before tile laying ? Because my contractor uses thick mortar and then uses tiles to get the slope. Any good videos on that topic ?

If your existing floor is strong and firm you can fix the tile over it without removing. The floor must be even and strong.

Hello Can you help me with this? Currently I have terrazzo floor at my home. I want to lay tiles on this floor using myk laticrete adhesive. But my tile contractor is suggesting me to first add a layer of this adhesive and then a layer of mortar above that and then lay tiles. Is this a good idea?
