I know this was posted awhile ago, but I haven't taken a math class in 25 years. I'm going back to college and they have me in an College Algebra and Trig math class. If I had just graduated high school, I'd probably have a better idea of what they are talking about but I didn't so I don't. When they explain things, they skip steps because they think I know what I'm doing. So, thank you thank you for posting these videos. They are a tremendous amount of help!!

@5:50 Why multiply by the conjugate? Aren't we meant to keep the root signs away from the denominator?
@JohnJigsaw4206 жыл бұрын
Only take the root out of the denominator at the end. He didn't do so but you can take that extra step. If you don't use the conjugate, things get pretty tough. Once you use the conjugate it simplifies things nicely and you can simply the root to the numerator at the end.
@mrivassnj5 жыл бұрын
@@JohnJigsaw420 I like that the conjugate was used BUT what happened to -f(x) in the difference quotient? He foiled ( root x+h minus root x) (root x+h plus root x) then I didnt see how -f(x) was incorporated.. does the conjugate eliminate it?
