Thank you for the video, as usual. 😁 I was actually hoping that you will mention what to do to remedy a situation where the tubular battery gets tilted and the liquid spills. What would be the correct thing to do to remedy the situation? Or, does one just go ahead to use the battery in spite of the liquid having spilled and as long as the level remains above the plates? Or should one top-up and with what should one top it up?

Do you recommend rain water carefully and freshly collected from the rain in place of commercial distilled water? It is in abundance during rainy season. This could be handy when one wants to clean the battery and change electrolyte.

No. The rain water contains enormous compounds and chemical elements that will be detrimental to the health of the battery.

The shelf life of a lead acid battery without charge is between 5 to 7 months , SLA and SMF battery essentially discharges 3% every month so if it stays longer that 7 months it might start sulfating.

@@smilinsunsmilinsun8056 I've never heard anyone actually need a gel battery. And your video just emphasizes that point about all of its disadvantages. It being more expensive, as well as more fragile, as well as giving fewer cycles, mean that there are no clear advantages. Before this video I had heard that you can discharge gel batteries up to a DOD of 70% But in recent years I've been told that that's not the case that it's the same as standard tubular batteries because they are made up of essentially the same components. Which makes sense to me. But if that's the case then I don't know what the advantages are at all. Aside from maybe increasing your bill the launder money.
