Good video. One thing you alluded to when you mentioned greater efficiency yet did not mention directly is the low internal resistance of a lithium battery compared to a FLA battery and what this has at a high discharge rate, such as with high powered inverter use. The Peukert effect demonstrates that with a lead acid battery, you will have less battery capacity at high discharge rates, whereas a lithium battery's capacity is virtually unaffected by high discharge rates. The internal resistance also determines its self-discharge rate while in storage. Lead acid batteries typically have a self-discharge rate of between 5-15% per month depending on the temperature at which they are stored. Lithium batteries have a self-discharge rate of between 1-2% a month because their internal resistance is much lower. Lithiums have some disadvantages too. You can damage them if you charge them below freezing, though you can discharge them below freezing without damage. Their momentary discharge rate is also less than a lead acid battery and is usually limited by the BMS, making a lead acid starting battery a better choice if it's primary use is high amp vehicle starting and not long term, deep cycle energy storage.

Thank you so much, what brand of Tobular will you recommend?
@vbbb8088 ай бұрын
Tubular batteries are considered safer than lithium-ion batteries in terms of fire risk and thermal runaway. They do not pose the same fire and explosion hazards associated with lithium-ion batteries, making them suitable for use in environments where safety is a concern.

@vbbb8088 ай бұрын
Let me educate you Tubular batteries tend to perform better than lithium-ion batteries in high-temperature environments. They can tolerate higher ambient temperatures without significant degradation in performance, which is advantageous in hot climates or applications where cooling may be challenging.

Phospate battery have about 1000 cycles with full discharge. Tobular battery have about 700 cycles with 80 precents deep of discharge. Not tobular lesd acid battery have about 200 cycles or less with 80 precents dod.

bro thanks for video i have question what is the best for 150w -200w (( PC load )) - GEL tubular battery - or - tubular lead acid battery . in terms of long life you know gel cost about 75$ more than lead acid tubular battery here thank you in advance

In terms of ranking Lithium is no 1 , then Tubular / open flooded lead acid battery , then AGM , Then Sealed lead acid and finally Gel

@@smilinsunsmilinsun8056 Thanks for quick answer bro sadly, Lithium is too expensive here where i live (about 1500$ and more for 100ah 12v battery ) so i left with only two options Gel Tubular (350$) or lead acid Tubular (250$) what is better here ? And tbh am surprised you rank Gel last in the list and here is more expensive than Tubular lead acid

If I understand you to mean how much LiFePO4 will substitue this much LA, I think about 16 280Ah 3.2V cells. 50% dod LA, and 90% dod LiFePO4.

@smilinsunsmilinsun805611 ай бұрын
Your Solar panels might have short circuited due to the lightning surge, that in turn will affect the battery as it's no longer getting charge from the Solar panels.

You can not compare these 2 batteries as the normal 12v 100AH tubular batteries Vs 5.5kw or 2.2 kw or whatever it is Lithium batteries can not be compared....if you would take a normal 100AH tubular and 100AH LiFePo, the results on lifespan are not that different, in some cases ive seen LiFePo go down way before tubulars

the difference in price of lead and Lithium based on initial cost vs 10 year life span, lead initial cost for Rolls 390ah (current price in S Fla $335ea need 8 to make 48v) $2680 and will last on average 3-5 years if taken care of and not discharged more then 50% otherwise life span is decreased( you mentioned 4000 cycles for lead acid batteries that would be 10.9 years, how many people seen a battery last more then 5 years cycling everyday, very few), in actuality you get 180ah usable. so for 10 years you will need a minimum of 2 sets of batteries $5360, this does not include the monthly maintenance of time , water added and cleaning of terminals. Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePo4) batteries 400ah $5430 little to no maintenance, you have over 300ah usage with 80% usage, Lithium absorbs energy faster with less self discharge the lead and can last well over 10 years. wile the initial setup cost of lead is cheaper the Lithium is the better choice
