The sad part is the just about all his issues come from his 2ed in command Eurylcous. And at the end (the song thunder bringer) Odysseus doesn’t cast blame, doesn’t say that this was a result of Eurylcous’s actions or that if it wasn’t for Eurylcous that things would have been different. But still Eurylcous looks for Odysseus to think and makes things right. It really shows the difference between the two. One looks to cast blame while the other knows better

Every time i hear him say "Cut off their tails, throw them in the water, let them drown." It huts me like a ton of bricks how well Oddyseus learned his lesson from Poseidon.

I think he took the wrong lesson tho like I get the idea but and Athena tried to warn him but he chose not be cocky if he had just put the cyclops out of his misery that would have been it the sirens also just doing what they do to survive but they hadn’t hurt anyone on his crew yet and they weren’t actively blocking their way so this feels more like needless bloodshed which was kinda what he was on about in the beginning like I understand why it’s that way but also lapdmdnusisofkfb why is you like that

Realistically what Odysseus did was the safest bet. Killing the Sirens made sure they wouldn’t kill anymore people as well as not risking any of them deciding to follow after them and try to kill then again when they aren’t prepared. Also they are heartless monsters who kill people constantly to the point you couldn’t consider it a way of survival but instead of just what they enjoy doing. The only time they show any form of remorse of their actions is when they are threaten with death and only then.

Who then pointed him to the cave of the cyclops, where it all dominoed into the monster that he has to become in order to come out on the other side. At the end of the day lowering his guard was what killed all of his men.

Scylla doesn't attack other monsters. Although, I do think it would have been a good idea to use them as hostages, positioning them in ways that would mean inmediate death in case Scylla tried something. Although, he'd still need the torches prepared, in case that plan failed.
