Different Fishing Lines explained

I fished braid for small fish for years. Then I went back to mono on ultralight gear and much prefer it, especially to slow the drop on small jigs. For years I did 40 pound braid for catfish, and then switched to mono for good circle hook sets. I used braid for bass for years, and then realized that the fish could see the braid long before the leader ever got them on a retrieve. Then I switched to mono as a compromise between abrasion resistance and visibility. In short, I’ve gone full circle to mono.

Good video! Two setups I use for panfish 6lb braid for main line and a 2 foot leader of 4lb clear mono, or 3lb clear P-line florocarbon both setup have worked very well for bluegill and Crappie using 6 foot Ultralight rods.

Spot on with the braided line twist at the rod tip. Braid is all I use now with a fluorocarbon leader.

I like braid for fishing brush piles and its more sensitive than mono. Mono can be tough to get out of a brush pile because of the strech but with braid you can straighten the hook.

I use mono and fluorocarbon spiderwire brand for fluorocarbon I don't like braid at all

Thanks for the informative lesson on line. Your videos are always very good. I noticed that you are still fishing with your old rods. How many rods do you normally carry in your boat. Thanks again for sharing your information. I have ordered some of your rods, just have not received them yet.

Let up on hook set with braid. I feel the weight, pulling to the side. Fishing deep brush piles you'll like it better.

Of course everyone has opinions lol. Here are my thoughts for everyone I use a 10lbs braid mainline and add a leader of mono or fluorocarbon depending on the bite. This is both cost effective as the braid last a long time. You just have to find the Braid that works great on spinning gear. KastKing Super Power Yellow Braided Fishing Line in the 10lbs test I have found works best as I have spent a small fortune in testing braided lines lol. Braid is a great line you won't lose a good fish due to breaking but man the line twist you talking about is horrible 🤦🏾‍♂️
