When I was older that is what my baby boomers parents had. It comes with learning respect from very calm whooping when you are younger. If you give whooping in anger the kids know how to manipulate your feelings. When you give whoopings when you are as cold as dry ice your kids learn that there is no manipulating or questioning of you as you have no feelings that can be manipulated.

"Aaron hurry so we don't run late, well that Sunday the Cowboys were playing Redskins and I wanted to see the game. And God so help me I must not have been in my right mind. I yelled at him "I'M NOT GOING!!' And i let out an expletive. Turned my head in a dismissive way. Out of the corner of my right eye. i see a quickly moving shadow towards my face and it was his open hand. At that moment I knew I messed up, bad. I have never before or since been B____ slapped. This is generous to Gen Z. I am elder Millenial and my neighbors are Gen Z. Their kid plays with my kids in the shared community space. They are hopeless. My 7 year old told the dad once to stop being so noisy when he was using spray paint. She was being sassy and instead of dealing with the situation or talking to me directly, I was right there outside with them, he called his mother. A grown man actually stopped what he was doing, then called his Mom because a child told him he was being noisy. She then called me and I asked her why her son is taking orders from a child. Any other Gen would have told her to buzz off and mind her own business. And it would be fine because setting personal boundaries is normal.

This is a fantastic piece of generation “RESPECT”…. So Real, I’m a Baby Boomer (1961)….I NEVER SPOKE BACK OR CHALLENGED MY PARENTS AUTHORITY; I had the utmost respect and appreciation for them. We did not have much growing up, but they taught me and my younger sisters the Important Things in LIFE! Respecting our elders and teachers was foremost; There were no severe issues;I mean we weren’t perfect and that belt came off real quick when we needed reminders. Thanks Mom and Dad for taking the time to raise us as young ladies and to be contributors in society!!!! I miss you both EVERY DAY!

As a millennial I can confirm we gentle parent and we freeze up when confronted 😂 As someone who grew up with boomer/gen x parents I can confirm we get mistreated by them. Silent generation is so chill.

As a millennial we did not talk to our parents that way. My mouth dropped and i was like he’s about to fear for his life. Because he was about to not have any semblance of one for a very long time and probably not be able to sit. I was a child the last time my mother had to spank me with the wooden spoon or rubber slipper.

All of these applies to the mothers in my lineage too. I'm the Millennial mom and I admit I would have reacted the exact same way except I would have said it like the 🍑 bandit on Boondocks 🤣 🤣 😂

My mother was definitely a silent generation, but she was a baby boomer, , when it came to a messy room! I remember to this very day about my bed piled up with clothes, because I just laid them on the bed, when I changed after school, to hurry up and get all my chores done before she got home. It's just that I never remembered to go back and hang them up. Thank God for answering prayers. I made it through that whipping, to give this testimony, that I remember like it was today!😂😂😂😂😂. I didn't laugh that day.

Only problem, Silent generation was coming back with the belt to hit you up for whatever you might have did before you got home and dad didn't hear about. And if you actually didn't do anything, it was always good to get one stocked up in you in case something happened tomorrow.

My dad was boom gen but he was that silent type. Been in Vietnam. He did what he had to and that man killed people for less. He loved his family and worked hard. He had few words. He was a good man but you didn’t cross him. I mouthed off once when I was about 20 and he said we can go out in front yard right now. I had nothing to say after that because he didn’t play and he would drop me quick 😳
