The 1950s were super, super popular in the 80s. Grease and the Outsiders were pretty big in that era and so it was common to see things inspired by that style. In the Karate Kid 2 when Daniel goes to Japan, he and Kumiko go to a 1950's dance, so I'm guessing it was just a universal thing then. Super cute box! Your art style was just vibing with it in this video! Thank you so much for sharing and I'm so happy you're feeling better
@jocelynecupcake2 жыл бұрын
Are you talking about like 1950's in Japan? or 1950's in western countries? I don't know much about Japan back then, but I thought back then girls wore kimonos and other clothes from their culture. Did they wear like what American women wore in the 1950s?

Specifically the ō that the subtitles said, most likely a おう (ou) which is basically an elongated o
@whhdve12372 жыл бұрын
@@Miipmiip ō is shyo without the y so it’s just pronounced o/sho instead of yo/shyo I’m not sure if it can also be elongated but I don’t think so because usually when u see that it’s just like concise or neutral but I could be wrong with that
@Miipmiip2 жыл бұрын
@@whhdve1237 yeah I haven’t fully looked into it, the elongated part is just from what I’ve gathered myself - you could very well be right about the sho part, then it’d be しょわwhich would be the whole word
@miller_niki19822 жыл бұрын
The correct romanization for 昭和(しょうわ」is Shōwa. (As someone was born in Shōwa year 57 and who has lived in Japan for almost 20 years.) The Japanese “o” is pronounced “oh” as stated above. The only time you write the h is when it’s pronounced. Japanese is completely phonetic. The syo spelling of しょうis the older system of romanization, most legal documents use what is called the Hepburn system and it’s what my children learned in school.

I usually sum up my feelings on orange thusly: My favourite colour is rainbow, if that is not an option, it's purple. So although my least favourite colour is orange, because it is part of the rainbow, it's also technically my favourite.

@AngBeaVideos2 жыл бұрын
I definitely feel this! I feel that with art projects assigned during school, i have no time to be creative on my own. What I’ve been doing lately is drawing Pinterest inspired stuff in my sketchbook, even if it looks too similar. I just need to keep my drawing skills going even if it’s not an original thought. I felt ashamed first that I couldn’t come up with an original character or concept but then I realized that I learn a lotttt by redrawing cool things anyways. I try to do a doodle a day just to say I drew something.

Someone has probably mentioned it, but it sounded like you were talking about Moritaka Chisato around 9:34. She's a very famous idol/singer and her costumes are especially iconic for their short (often but not always poofy) skirts and shoulder pads. (Not quite sure that was actually a picture of her though, I'm no expert but I don't think she wore her hair like that when she debuted in '87.)
