It’s also one of my favourites, next to alcohol based markers and the medium I call “whatever the fucks in my pencil case” where I use only what’s in my pencil case which consists of random pens and liners, highlighters, a couple white gel pens, a couple pencils, and some other random stuff

I feel the same. Rin is one of very few art KZbinrs I like watching (partly because her personality, partly because I like it when she designs characters) so it's always part exciting and part annoying when she gets watercolour 😆

Please use your needed eraser and roll it over when using watercolor paper! Using traditional erasers rips your paper, can make it harder to use and control the water or ruin it completely :3

watercolour is one of my favs but I barely ever use it bc… ya know I have to get the paints and brushes and set up and everything but my markers are just right there and ready to use so I tend to grab those instead XD

i had this issue you can buy like watercolour pen brushes that remove this issue a bit because you dont need to get water so then you dont need to newspaper over tables either (you can search like squeeze watercolour pen brushes)

I’ve ended up using a lot of watercolors, it’s nice how even bright pastel or vividly pigmented colors can be washed out to make more muted palettes for moodier pieces

Hey I just want to thank you for inspiring me to get back into drawing and sketching. I’m 27, when I was 18 I went into a terrible depression which caused anxiety and eventually led to me becoming an addict… I got clean, and have been clean for the last 5 yrs. But when I got depressed I stopped making art which was a huge part of my identity, one of the few things I could do that made me feel proud of myself. I started watching Jazza and Sarah Renae Clark who inspired me to start coloring and creating and building. But it wasn’t until I found your channel that inspired me to start drawing again. Waffles ! If you're having trouble with white poscas or white gel pens, you should try using white out and a paint brush! It doubles as a school supply and an art supply, and it works wonders !

A good tip with watercolor and adding 2nd layers: either mix it when it's still completely wet and let the water do its thing OR you have to wait it to _fully_ dry, or you'll end up creating the 'cauliflower' kind of bloomy effects. :) Also the '100% cellulose' means it's entirely made of wood (like your printer paper), with no cotton in it. Cotton paper can handle more water and is generally considered 'better quality watercolor paper', but it definitely is up to preference. Also 'pastel sets' like this usually have the pigments mixed with an opaque white ink or pigment, hence they are are more opaque than your 'normal colors' - you can get the same effect by mixing white with your regular colors. :) Your working from reference has improved a ton! I really love how you soften the shapes to fit your own style. ^^

I have a fun challenge for u. Try to come up with a drawing using ur wall. Basically since drywall has texture to it, it creates shapes, etc. U can take those shapes and turn them into objects or creatures. And then you can define it more (or make it more into ur style) after u have like the basic shape down

I politely request a video full of drawing specifically betta fish. The way you stylized the fishies brought me so much joy but I think you’d be shocked at how beautiful and unique so many bettas are. There are so many different tail types, like crowntail, veiltail, half moon, etc. and the colors are so vibrant and beautiful. Koi bettas are always dazzling and my personal favorite: purple alien bettas. It’s just SO FUN and cute 🥰

You'll get much more variety with "regular" watercolors- since it's a transparent medium you dilute the pigment to get pastel shades, a watery wash is all you need to get pastel colors, but with it you can also go darker. If you know your mixing well and wanna save money, three primary colors and black yields you the entire color wheel, the white being your paper or just pure water for mixing. These are also.. bordering on gouache (called opaque watercolor for a reason :D) so if you want something transparent it's not gonna be this one. Probably because they added white to get the pastel-looking pigments Cool if you want a bit of opaque paint that can only be pastel, but thought I'll give you some tips if you wanna branch out more
