Punjabi is the tenth largest language of the world with around 125 million speakers. Due to such diversity, Punjabi has a large number of accent/dialects or 'lehjay' that are being spoken around the lenhnda and charhda Punjab.
Majhi, Doabi, and Malwai dialects are categorized as standard Punjabi since they are spoken by the majority and also very near to the original Punjabi. Majhi is common in Pakistan, while Malawi is common in Indian Punjab. Doabi accent is called Faisalabadi Punjabi. Potohari is being spoken in the Rawalpindi division. Changvi and Jangli is spoken in Jhang and Okara district. Shahpuri is common in Sargodha
Dogri, Hindko, and Siraiki dialects are classified as separate languages in Pakistan.
