Ooh, thank you. The Low Back Undercut Man Bun is exactly the style I was looking for! My kiddo has hair to his shoulders, but it's SO THICK it's very hard to get into a pony tail, let alone a boy-bun! I think the low undercut is just what he needs, his hair can just hand down when it's out, but it'll be much easier to tie up when he's playing sport.

I've been needing this, I've had an undercut since middle school but I recently (less than a year ago) decided to grow it out. I love tying my hair up but most examples of manbuns online are for people with long hair around the whole head as opposed to primarily the top

I love your videos..... I have a disconnected man bun style myself. I am currently on a hair growth journey. I decided the undercut as my template. It was a slippery slope. But it's working. I found out I have curly hair. So when I wear it down you would never know I have a undercut! My goal is at least shoulder length maybe a bit more. We will see ... Hopefully you grow your hair long again.... I live in canada and have had shorter hair my entire life until now.. So it still keeps my head warmer!

I'm a woman, but I have an undercut that's pretty similar to the last one, and when I let my hair down, you really would not know. It looks like normal long hair. I can wear it loose or in a low ponytail to go stealth, or I can tie it up if I want to rock the undercut. That does depend on how thick your hair is, mind you, mine is very thick. If it was thinner you might see the short sides when it's down. Not necessarily a bad thing, though, especially for a guy.

2:41 a tip for people who want to get this style: the secret is to create the line between the shaved one and the rest. If you don't have the line, it's going to be kinda girly and weird. So don't just shave it or doing faded or something, just get a regular buzz cut on that part, and remember the line then you'll be fine. i'm having it right now (asian hair type with 1.5 year growth) and the only thing annoying me is that I have to visit the barber every 2 or 3 weeks to make it as i want it to be.

Hey Thomas did you ever try John Master Organics for Dry Hair, is really GOOD it as no sulfates and lets your hair moisturise. I use it once a week (i wash my hair twice a week sometimes three so once a week i will use te John masters organics and then in my secunde weakly wash i will use a sulfate shampoo because i have very oily scalp so i need a very good cleansing of my scalp)

I know this is an old message, but it's an interesting problem. As a woman I would avoid this issue by wearing my hair braided when doing dirty jobs. Braids aren't just for looks, they also protect the hair from dirt and stop it drying out and getting tangled. They're a protective hairstyle that tackles the exact problem you're talking about. But I guess a braid is a more difficult option for a man to go for, especially on a construction site. As an alternative, perhaps put it in a low bun (if possible under the hard hat) and put a net on it to stop it getting loose and limit how much dirt can get to it. Then wash and condition it really well, teasing the conditioner through with your fingers, and making sure to give it lots of time to soak in before rinsing. The reason it mats like this is likely a combination of sweat, friction and dust, so if you tie it up and keep it covered you will reduce the problem a lot.
