Big JACK fan here, and somehow this escaped me until last night. I've watched/listened to this about 6 times in the last 12 hours. Mind blown. Amazing collaboration here. Huge respect for all! Bravo.

What a presentation?!!! This piece rules!! A nod to Steve Reich's Different Trains?! I'd say so. This is easily my favorite thing on KZbin. Almost none of my friends seem to like it which I always take as an sound endorsement for the real shit. I've been watching this repeatedly since it was first released. I would have loved to have been in attendance for this epic. Jojo Mayer is always so masterful and that Jack Quartet, totally crush it. Bravo!!!

I think its all in 4/4 and just going through phases or some kind of metric modulation going on.
@johnnhello49133 жыл бұрын
@@AaronLevyDrums yes. They are all looking at a little chart on their music stands to see when there's a change in something that's probably 4/4. I like how you get back to this after a post of the same performance is uploaded

@@johnnhello4913 I'm transcribing this and placing it rhythmically as 21/4 (or four bars of four and a bar of five) for the opening, then 5/4 for the middle section (with superimposed swung 4 over the 5) and the last section essentially going from 8/8 to 7/8 to 6/8 and back up again... But there are a couple of little surprises in there! At least that's how I'm hoping to approach it on the kit here... hahaha Mind blown for sure. Awesome piece a.
