The example involving changing air pressure with altitude assumes that air temperature is constant. This is not normally the case since air temperature changes with altitude. So, the exponential example given in the video uses small changes in altitude with a constant temperature to be more realistic. The classical equation involving changes in air pressure with altitude is given in the barometric formula which can be referenced. To compare the example given in this video at a constant temperature (like 15 degrees C that was referenced), use the "Calculate Air Pressure at Altitude" table in the site below.
