Can you imagine trying to make off ceiling roses or light fittings at height using this cable! I think myself using the cpc with a pliers will be only way to go unless they come up with a new stripping tool for this cable... Enjoyable video guy's... Top class...

Hi, for me I would pull the cpc out and up the cable on site... but sadly this is not a method we can use at college as the cable lengths are often short in length and we run the risk of pulling it out. Thanks for commenting and watching. Gaz

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH. I have recently started my level 2 2365 and your channel is 100% better than anything I learnt at college. Because we have a few sparks in the class it Seems like the lectures assume we all know what were doing so they go through things at light speed. But the way you explain things is so simple but very effective. I was actually thinking of withdrawing from course and saving my money until I came across your channel. GSH MY NEW CHURCH AND YOU MY FRIEN ARE A GOD 🤣. BUT SERIOUSLY, THANK YOU.

I was on a job, I could strip the outside white sheath but not the individual Live and Neutral with my wire striped. I was advised to use a cable cutter.

Here in Germany there are also big differences between the different manufacturers of halogen free cables (eg NHXMH) Some cables strips very easy others you have to use a knife (eg joakari) to strip it.

Great video guys. As always. I would just strip it the way I always strip they grey FLAT TWIN AND EARTH pair of side cutters and pull the earth conductor along the length. Colleges can't expect a sixteen year kid to strip it any other way. Thank you for another sterling vidio.

Originally the PVC sheath was white on the older cables with red and black wires

Hi guys, I'm pretty certain they do have different current carrying capacities (without getting the regs book out), obviously one is thermoplastic insulation and the other thermosetting. One can go to 70 degrees and the the other 90.

CK automatic strippers are the best for this but do break after a month or two of continuous work.

Is it just the outer cover that is safe , what about cables covering inside

On LSZH cable are the conductors insulated with LSZH as well or are they standard PVC?

Do you have to use the new white cable for 18th edition or can you still use the ordinary gray stuff.
