Hi Casey! Great to hear! All forms of diffusion are passive, which means the particles move down their concentration gradient - this requires no energy and therefore no ATP.

Simple diffusion is the movement of particles down their concentration gradient without the need of an open doorway (channel). Facilitated diffusion needs an open doorway (channel) for the particles to move down their concentration gradient.
