I've been super busy so I'm just now watching this @ 14:58 MT on Saturday. Lot's of people got their .02 in for the Saturday filming so I'll be glad to see that tomorrow or so. Anyway, in all my years I've never seen a pool installed. Glad you filmed this Mike and posted it. This is why I like your channel as opposed to some of the others; Andrew and Dirt Perfect are the other two I watch regularly. Keep up the good work and for that matter I bet it's good to just be back to work.

If you had asked me what I’d like to see you do, digging out a pool would be way down on my list, if at all. Nothing against it - it just never occurred to me. But you not only showed - and explained - how it’s done, you made it interesting as well. I must add my voice to those who want to see the backfilling. In a case like this, take the advice of Ray Davies and the Kinks: Give The People What They Want. And you did just that in a subsequent video. Remember, any idiot can make a video, but it takes a special person to make it interesting, and the best way to do that is through narration, the explanation of the job at hand and adding step by step commentary. And in this regard, you are a master of the craft. By the way, speaking of mastery, I loved watching you get the Kobelco out of the hole. I would ask you about your experience with the machine, but it must be positive, because from what you told us in your video about buying a dozer, you’re not the type to keep a machine that doesn’t or no longer meets your expectations. I would like to know, however, what made you decide on it, especially with a lot of other good brands to choose from, like Cat, Volvo, and Hitachi, for starters.

Cool video to see the process of starting a pool! I watch quite a few construction or excavating channels and I never see anyone use a lenker style grade rod. This is all I ever used when I was excavating and they're just so much easier. Wouldn't need the two sticks that he was using even though it worked just fine. I dig pools and that is wrong on so many levels. Never set panels while digging, easy way for someone to not go home. One 80 lb clump of dirt rolling over someones leg or hydraulic failure, too many variables to make that site safe with people setting 60-80 lb panels with limited mobility. I have stopped sites for that reason. Also those panels are not squared until everything is completely bolted together which means there is a good chance the hole is not square. I have run into this more often than not. Im not trying to knock anyone at all or troll this video. Safety is the #1 priority when using equipment and just because it hasnt happened yet doesnt mean mean it cant. Im sure these boys do good work, everyone has their own system that works for the. : edit : also i just noticed all the hand work for the sidewalls and final shape. I do all that with the machine Im going to assume the operator is skilled enough to do it but cant while panels are in the pool and they would get damaged if he tried. If those boys dont mind a soar back, more power to them haha I try to keep my guys from doing more physical work than they need to if possible. Seems to keep the moral of my guys up and they still have energy at the end of the day. Ill say it again, im only critiquing a few things from my perspective. Hyper specialized field and there really is not much info out there worth a shit, this is a good look at the process and pretty informative for people not used to this industry. I appreciate the time and effort from these boys to share it with us.

@@DIRT-BOSS that's what I was thinking about getting. Which model go pro is it? I was also curious about how the turning of machine would work if it would make you dizzy watching it from diggers perspective. I thought it was fine though! I also dig with people around. Watching the concrete sit in your shovel makes me cringe. I hate concrete sitting on my equipment. Would have rinsed it already.

This is the result of high demand... poor quality. These pool installation practices are out dated by 20years. Everything about this build from excavation to install is unprofessional. Buy yourself a track shovel and clean your tracks before floating a machine!! Clearly no shame here...
