You guys must have gotten into a cashe of those Collins points that washed out of the creek bank. Those things would have been deadly at the end of an arrow. The Indians were said to be able to shoot an arrow through a tree a foot in diameter. Documented by the Spanish Monks that came with the first Conquistadors in Florida, Desoto. They were said to have been able shoot through the armor the Spanish were wearing. The Indians also dipped the arrowheads in poison or rotten meat so if the shot didn't kill the enemy the infection would slowly get them over a period of days or maybe a couple of weeks. The Spanish made their way through Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, back through Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and into Texas before being forced to turn around and head for the coast.

Great video! Spike when you referenced your Dalton when you scored the Pontchartrain this got me to thinking, why not update Heartbreak Relics logo to be your Dalton?? I know all of you have found many amazing points that Ive personally watched you guys recover; however, I 've never seen any video that I have personally felt I was there experiencing the find as I did on your Dalton. The reason was due to your genuine emotion. Hey you guys could even take a pole asking for everyone to vote on this and it would also help your algorithm. I understand you guys currently have a lot of merchandise created to help reduce unit cost; however, it might be something to consider prior to your next order. I also understand the team aspect in what you guys do but still it was a really special video for so many viewers and I can only imagine your friends/team the emotion they all felt to share that with you! Spike normally its Kenneth pulling the "SPLINTER DIGGERS" and I worry he is going to rinse the tips off of them when he rinses his fresh creek find. LOL I never paid attention until you guys called him out on this, too funny! Is the best way to find the pristine "Splinter Diggers" to be in a Log Jam of Splinters?? It sure appears so. As always Guys, great job all the way around !! I always enjoy watching your hunts and seeing the fellowship among friends/family!

Thanks for the great comment and for the suggestion. I don't know that we will change the logo but a new tshirt may be in the making.
@jpump92364 жыл бұрын
I actually didnt think about the new Tee-Shirt for the direction, however, I think this is even better!!! You could have your Dalton on new merchandise/shirt and even down the road have the "Splinter Digger" shirt! LOL I love watching you guys and maybe this Spring or Summer I can get you guys over here in Alabama on some sites that I have yet to start excavating. I have so many sites and I currently have 4 or 5 that have yet to have anything removed outside erosion finds. Send me a way that I can send you a few pictures and I will send you some pictures that I found of this summers Daltons and other cool finds to evaluate from. We have amazing colored points here; however, about 2.5 inches is a VERY LONG point and good sized points for our area averages 2 inches. This could provide you guys an alternative to prevent exhausting your hunting sites. Hope you guys are having a great weekend and ROLL TIDE ROLL!!! @@HeartbreakerRelics

@HeartbreakerRelics3 жыл бұрын
We've never hunted slate creeks so we would have to start from scratch. To be honest I guess we would just look for pockets of aggregate ad try to sift and see what we come up with. As for digging, if you find flakes or points then dig. Good luck!

I appreciate you respondin, we just turned over a new section of field today and found a really nice 2" blade, and lots of river stone, and the closest river is 10 miles and was thinkin surely that slate filled creek would have somethin, I'm interested now in lookin for signs in the woods and have a bluff scoped out but not really any idea how to tell a old camp

Without overstepping my boundary, I'm a big field Walker and shelter digger. I've had some luck in the creek and on the banks of the creek. I was just wondering if you would and mind going through your process of locating the right Creek and the right part of the creek to increase chances of finding multiple points? I would appreciate it
@HeartbreakerRelics4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the great question. We believe all creeks have artifacts in them but in our opinion it's the bottom of the creek that makes all the difference. A creek with a soft mud or sand bottom is just too hard to hunt. Still if you found one with some gravel pockets I would give them a try. If the artifacts are there they should fall out or catch where the gravel does. Good luck.

I think I would like to do the screen thing. Is it easier to find points? Who knows how many of us walk and crush what we are looking for? I am a newbie at this looking for my first find. Any suggestions for a first timer? Are all arrowheads made from shiny like rocks? Why are they found in creeks and not on shore? Thank you for your help.
@HeartbreakerRelics4 жыл бұрын
Great questions. The points are in the water because they wash off at the banks and ridges over the years. They are also on the banks and that's a good way to find them too. Just walked really slow and look. In fact that's the porter I would give you to start with. Walk the rock bars and look. Good luck and happy Hunting.

Love the video. Thank you. Do you guys have any theories as to why so many points are found in this area? Is there something geographically or topographical (like a choke point along a past migration route) that make the area especially rich in artifacts?
@HeartbreakerRelics4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! That's a good question. There are Native American artifacts all over North and South America, Central America and Mexico. There just seems to be so many more in this area because we have Creeks perfect for this kind of hunting. Over the Millennia they wash off the ridges and into the creeks and they collect where gravel settles.
