Every single characteristic you described is 100% true!!! I have had to live and deal with a covert narcissist. It is an impossible and very toxic, destructive relationship!

I got your book the Human Magnet Syndrome recently, I wish I would've bought it last year when I went to therapy. It explains a lot of what I have gone through. After the separation I was so immersed in the pain, trauma and the aftermath of everything that happened, and I wasn't fully aware about all that was happening, it was confusing and there was a lot of misunderstandings. I have learned from all of that and my mistakes. I researched about narcissism many years ago, I learned about the "smear campaign", "flying monkeys", "gaslighting" and other NPD terms. I wish I knew before... In your book you explain about "Projective Identification" and how a codependent cannot be a narc at the same time. I wondered about this before, because of my ex's projections, gaslighting and the smear campaign. I'm an introvert and I don't like to be the center of attention nor everything to be all about me. I like my privacy, I have had to learned to live with not having any privacy because what I went through and still going through divorce. Like other introverts, we crave more for genuine connection in friendships and relationships, rather than attention and we are not afraid to be alone. It's been a long journey in healing from that relationship. I will never stop taking care of myself nor being in a one sided relationship. Your book is helping me to keep working on myself, in self-love and having health relationships. Thank you so much Ross! 💗🙌🙏✨

You are describing my malignant NPD alcoholic ex husband perfectly In his detached from reality paranoid world that he is the king of he is the expert on every subject . He is never wrong. It’s only his way or no way. He selfishly lives only for himself and fulfills his own desires no matter the cost or consequences to his family Humans /servants including his children are only allowed to be graced with his presence in his kingdom to serve him in transactional conditional ways and a price tag is placed on every transaction/interaction he has with his children Rules and laws don’t apply to him Only to his lowly servants You will be raged on abused and punished on his whim just for sport And If you expose his guilty inner self Or if you dare call him out for accountability on any self serving reckless destructive behavior he choses to do whenever he desires

If you can take care of yourself, many people are doing it. It's good for your own well being. I've been no contact for two months and I'm grateful to be emotionally free it's like sunshine is coming into your soul.

I tend to shut down but it mostly happens with people who I feel like don't care even if I express myself so my thoughts...why waste my time...I'll just listen to what they have to say and go talk to other people who actually give a damn

Or an ex codependent on the way to empowerment since a long time and turning into sort of a narcissist. Dunno. I've been called egoist and I'll hearted. But then.. they are narcissist. A bit confused. But about to relocate myself so.. but family always catches up. A brother in my opinion is the most difficult. Can't escape. And he started a campaign against me, to make me evil. While I have been taking care of paralyzed and Parkinson's parents. It's his turn. Bye. But then now I am seen as the one abandoning. Hoping to get over this strong wave.
