hey everyone, just wanted to say thank you to each and every one of you for watching, and supporting us over the past year and a half. Recently we have been out filming in the middle of nowhere, so i havent been able to really respond to any comments, as we only have access to internet a few hours a week. thank you for commenting, and liking, that really helps us out a lot, and again, thank you for watching, and if you are new to the channel, please consider subscribing, that would really help us out. just wanted to give a shoutout to sam from "detecting dakota" on youtube, who has been helping us out with some dig sites, and you guys should check out his channel. i will link his page at the bottom of this comment. also, we have a patreon for anyone who wants to sign up and help us out. you can watch content early, we try to stay at least a few weeks ahead over there. but if you cant afford it, then no worries, because the videos we release over there will be out on the channel eventually, so you wont miss anything. you can go to patreon.com and type in "below the plains" or check the link in the description. and again, i just want to say thank you all for watching, it's been really great building this channel, and all of the nice comments we get from you guys has been amazing to read. THANK YOU ALL.. so much. we appreciate you all very much heres a link to detecting dakota, plz check him out, he is a guy who got recommended out channel and got into contact with us, and he's a real gem of a person, so you should check out his videos, and tell him we sent you: www.youtube.com/@samsager1/featured

I love watching your videos! I was wondering what is the best way to send you info on a potential dig site? I mentioned in an earlier video that my great great grandmother and her husband had a restaurant/hotel in Montana in a brand new town in the 1910s. I’ve since found out the complete history of the building (it burned down in 1931) and have the names of the current owners of the properties the block of buildings was on. The block also had a drug store and barbershop in it in the 1916 Sanborn map, so the potential for dumped refuse from those businesses is pretty great, imo.

I have to wonder, the seeds, would they be worth trying to grow them? I know that seeds can lay dormant for long extended periods of time, and one can only wonder the potential of strains of seeds long passed.... ?

What a great channel. I found a 1935 dog tag in my own yard putting up a pool. House was built in 1926, my father wanted to dig up an area he stumbled across while dealing with cesspool problems. We thought he was nuts, might just do it now!!!

My Mother bought a house in Ohio that was built some time just before the turn of the 20th century. It was very similar in appearance to this house. There had been at least two suicides in the house. One was the brother of one of the school bus drivers I had. She came to the house after we had talked on the bus. The house had sat vacant for several years before we moved from California in 1979.

haha thank you! glad you liked it. well the thing at 8:30 is a swan. the back end is broken off it, but its some sort of glazed pottery. the circular part is its neck, and the head is on the right, with the beak pointing downward. the hardest part about filming this stuff is that it reflects so much light, that it kind of makes it hard to make out whats going on, on camera. and wow, thank you so much, glad you like our videos enough to watch them even once! that honestly brightens my day to hear. thanks for the comment

@@taleandclawrock2606 I’m from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania born and raised in Philly and still live just outside of the city. I can sometimes identify which neighborhood in the city that someone comes from. The accent here in Chester County, just west of the city differs from the city noticeably. Of course, I’m 76 years old and I’m referring to people who were born, raised and educated through high school in a small area as I was. With migration around the country, especially at an early age, accents fade away. Of course, I’m not talking about regions that are famous for deep accents such as Boston, New York City, South Carolina/ Georgia/Alabama and of course Texas. Canadians have accents. They pronounce “about” as “aboot” with a flat long “o”. And then there are French speaking Canadians, too. I’m given to understand that their French has drifted far from the mother tongue.

@BelowthePlains Жыл бұрын
"use" layer.. and by that we mean, the part of the pit that was being actively filled in on a daily basis.. the top of the pits tended to have been filled with ashes, clay, and dirt. so the bottom of the pit is always the "use layer" and anything above that is usually just backfill where they covered the pit up.. even on a 6 foot deep pit, the use layer usually is only about the bottom 1-2 feet. hope that was easy to understand.. i just dont know how to phrase it..... its the poop layer. thanks for watching

@BelowthePlains
@BelowthePlains Жыл бұрын
there are a few videos where we have found some coins. but we usually dont find them in the pits. or at least not in any condition to really show off. the uric acid in urine tended to dissolve metals like copper and silver. havent found any gold coins, but all of the coins in the pit, are usually in rough shape. we actually find the most amount of coins in the top soil around the pit. mostly wheat pennies and "indian head" pennies. we used to bring a metal detector with us, but there is usually so much rust in these pits, that it really messes with the signal, and we rarely found anything, so we just quit brining it with. thanks for watching
