That’s a great job. I love how you turned it into a racer.

Great rare kit out of the vault! Definitely one of the Jo-hans I'd like to get ahold of to do the Max-Wedge Super Stockers.

The AMT '49 Merc kit has a great 413 wedge as the "custom engine" . Actually quite accurate for this car.

Very cool ! I'm digging the use of the checker board on the roof and carrying over to the top of the hood scoop !

Super awesome build Louie!!! Nice details. Love these JoHan kits. They filled the niche nicely of cars that no one else created. What other model car manufacturer offered a '62 Dodge or '62 Olds F-85 or a hearse for that matter. Thanks for sharing.

I miss those old Jo-Han kits. I have a few that I built years ago. I'm working on the 60 Desoto Adventurer currently.

I remember seeing this old Jo-Han kit a year ago in that MASSIVE collection Andy's Hobby Headquarters received one day, I *really* wanted it but due to the sheer volume of inventory he received and had to go through, it was not available for mail order; such is life. Yours came out nice, very 60s.

Reminds me of the 1964 dodge 330,440, and 880 cars by Lindberg i have always wanted one of those because my dad had the Johan version since it was a 330 from when I was a kid....

Great Build, Louie. I always enjoy seeing how you represent some of the cars from back in the day. I remember seeing these cars at the drag strip and I just marveled over them. The wilder the paint schemes the more attention they got.

Remember building an early-'60s Dodge Dart kit as a li'l whelk back in the early-'80s. Don't recall the brand, thoug...

Great build of a vintage kit! Do you happen to remember what kit the checkerboard decals came from? I am really enjoying your builds. Cheers!
@goratgo19709 ай бұрын
Not for sure, but look to me like they're from Microscale full checker sheet, like they're stripes, etc.
@TheAutisticModeler9 ай бұрын
I got them in a huge bulk decal purchase a couple years ago. I believe they were micro scale brand. Package they came in is long gone. I do appreciate you watching. Happy modeling!!

Evidently those Dupli color paints don't hurt the plastic. I was wondering if they would due to their "hot" solvents. Glad it came out well.

Thank you for watching. I always prime the body with cheap Ace hardware white primer. Works great. Happy modeling

Haha louie a flowerpower Dodge. Great result from that kit. I love it a lot. 1 Question.After seeing your vault tour i was wondering.Howlong are collecting all those kits. I asume it not started from 1 day to another. And you are 100% right. You build your kits the wau YOU like them. The same here. All those 100% perfect builds models,i can see them out on the streets aswell. Making them personal is way nicer,and for those who don,t like it, well it aint your kit.That is the way i think about that. Sorry for those to who you don,t compley the 100% expectations.

I started building models around 7-8 years old. (Check out my Father’s Day video with dad for more info) And started collecting and building heavier as I got older and could buy more. A lot of the vintage kits like the Johan ones, I bought new when they were still on the hobby store shelves. Thank you and Happy Modeling!!

@@TheAutisticModeler Thank you Louie for that explanation. I wish i started earlier buying kits and building them now after i did not build anything for over 30 years. But that life i guess. Gooing to watch the fathers day video now.

You did a good job with the X-acto knife - but using a Dremel tool on that kind of stuff is usually the way I go. Also, I like to do all separate pieces for the undercarriage - drive train and suspension. So, I tend to do a lot more cutting and sectioning of under body areas. A Dremel is a life saver for that stuff....always wear eye protection !
