Honestly I wish we would had gotten more of this in 02 and actually give the 01 the right treatment. Also in tri I wish we would had gotten the 02 kids as well but still have the 01 as main characters. Or just make everyone have their shine

It was strange that Phantomon immediately lost to Halsemon. However, Phantomon is Ultimate and Halsemon is Armor Digimon.

Well phantomon is a very weak perfect level, he got destroyed by Angemon who wasn’t even aiming for him in 01 Adventure and he was too scared to go face to face with metalgreymon And also it’s possible that this phantomon is just a random one and weaker than the 01 phantomon since that phantomon was a minion for Myotismon

@@csmith3248 Yeah probably this Phantomon was even weaker. And 01 Phantomon was possibly at Nanomon's level or slightly stronger, Phantomon easily beat Greymon and Nanomon easily beat Birdramon and Greymon and Birdramon were roughly equal. And the fact that he lost to Angemon wasn’t such a bad thing, Vamdemon was a very powerful Perfect (maybe as strong as some low tier Mega Digimon) and Angemon still hurt him with ease. So no wonder Phantomon died like a dog.

I always thought Phantomon was just a glass cannon. He hadn't any kind of trouble beating Greymon but he still decided to dodge Greymon's Mega Flame. And finally he was wiped out by Angemon even though Vamdemon took about 98 percent of that Angemon's attack at the time.

Now that I think about it Tai asking what the fuss is with regards to DNA digivolving is kind of funny because he and Matt both already know what its all about or did they forget that before the new digidestained were picked the two went onto the internet and fought a virus digimon threating the whole human world and eventually with a little help from the kids (one being Yolei herself) around the world MetalGarurumon and WarGreymon DNA digivoled into Omnimon.

Fantomon being defeated by an Armor is so humiliating. He has such a great Design, but no juice behind him. At least Frontier redeams him.

Well yeah but however, Phantomon always seemed to be a bit of a glass cannon. I mean 01 Phantomon easily owned Greymon in physical move, but he didn't want to tank Greymon's "Mega Flame". Also, later he was casually pushed back by Birdramon, who was Greymon's equal at best. And listing Angemon might not be entirely fair because he had a major advantage over Phantomon BUT still Angemon killed him even though Vamdemon absorbed like 99% of the blast. Not to mention that Angemon didn't even try to kill him in the first place. Though yeah, Frontier one was far more impressive. The same happened with Woodmon, he was quite a fodder in Adventure but in Frontier he was clearly stronger. Maybe I would roughly say that Phantomon would be like Lillymon's evil male counterpart (at least most of the time). Both are very fast and their main attacks are pretty powerful, but their durability isn't that good. Though Lillymon was still somewhat better because at least she could take a couple of "Mugen Cannons" from Mugendramon IIRC but that was to be expected since she was the main Digimon anyway.

@@UchitakeOtoshi While I like Birdramon, I honestly think its probably a bit weaker. And interesting you brought up Birdramon. Cause Birdramon, and Ikakumon where loosing to a big Variant of Bakemon. Your saying Fantomon scales lower in Defense then Big Bakemon. But yes, I think its fine to think of them as Glass Canons, and Support Digimon. It can create this Bubbles, and has decent Attackpower, its just fragile.

@@Sunaki1000 Well you have to note one thing and it's that both Birdramon and Ikkakumon were still quite inexperienced when they faced Lord Bakemon. Birdramon who fought Phantomon was much more experienced and way stronger than the one who fought Lord Bakemon. Birdramon most probably would have soloed Lord Bakemon if she had faced him like in Ep 35. I mean a few episodes earlier, Birdramon was strong enough to take multiple attacks from Mammothmon even before she stomped him as Garudamon. However yeah, it may be that Birdramon is still a bit below Greymon (at least Greymon is tankier), but at least I would put all Adventure Champions (sans Angemon & Tailmon) at the same tier. And no, Phantomon's defense isn't lower than Lord Bakemon's by any means, Phantomon was also able to completely resist the Buddhist Sutra while Lord Bakemon couldn't do that.

It would've been cool otherwise but imo that would've been a bit waste of Omnimon's precious time. I mean that the main opponents in that Episode were only either Champions or couple of Ultimate/Perfect Digimon. Even WarGreymon would have been way too much here.
