Although this attack doesn't do any damage (and it's pretty much only a comical move), it's actually really useful against grounded opponents because it can knock the opponent down at least momentarily. E.g. Digimon that big as VenomVamdemon/Myotismon may need some time to get up again after that slipping, while MetalEtemon can use his stronger attacks at the time Venom is getting up. I'm still not saying he can beat Venom (both had good durability but Venom also had regeneration), but he can actually get a little extra time because of this.

While Devimon was more like the devil, Etemon is the high school bully. Not so much a cosmic evil but still evil.

Yeah Pinocchimon/Puppetmon wasn't really much of a physical fighter, WarGreymon also easily matched him in physical combat. It was more his hax abilities that made him a big threat. We saw it when MetalGarurumon immediately blasted him when this ability no longer worked. So yeah, if it's really a purely physical fight and no hax moves allowed, I'd put my money on MetalEtemon. Especially also because we saw MetalEtemon easily tanking "Puppet Pummel" a couple of times but we never saw Puppetmon tanking MetalEtemon's "Dark Spirits Deluxe" which mortally wounded another Mega Digimon (ie SaberLeomon). 😏

And don't forget that later, he basically goes 2v1 against Zudomon and SaberLeomon; fighting an Ultimate-level and Mega-Level Digimon at the same time. Also, both MetalEtemon and Puppetmon are both Mega-Level Digimon, but MetalEtemon is so strong, Puppetmon may as well just be Champion-level. A part of me wonder if he'd actually be able to beat Piedmon.

Pinocchimon is also more sinister in the sub. The only reason I liked this scene in the dub is because it uses a bit of rock music in the exact style as the sub, which finally gives a feel that it's Digimon. They should have kept the original soundtrack everywhere.

It's a Japanese cartoon and a lot of their religions have themes of reincarnation. In the original Japanese, Etemon sinks into Hell and is reborn as MetalEtemon due to his hatred of the Digidestined. It's basically the same story in the English version of except they say "limbo" instead of "Hell" since they assume English speakers are more likely to be familiar with Catholicism than Buddhism, I guess...
