Yeah this Kiwimon was clearly stronger than that Kiwimon who was Puppetmon's minion and was easily destroyed by Birdramon. That was a good indication again that Chosen Digimon are usually stronger than random versions of them.

I was expecting Davis to team up with Tai since they are both lead characters. Also love to see Agumon and Veemon fight together in the same scene. For Ken and Matt when they paired up together, they are like 2nd in command.

I wish we could have seen Wargreymon in this episode because in my opinion Agumon and Gabumon’s Mega Level forms are the true special parts of Agumon and Gabumon. Azulongmon should have given Tai and Matt additional power so Agumon and Gabumon can Warp Digivolve into their mega level forms.

MetalGreymon was clearly enough to put these guys down, so evolving into WarGreymon would've been a sheer waste of energy at this time. I see your point otherwise, but I think it's always pointless to use a higher level at the situation where a lower level is already more than enough. Like you don't often use a professional boxer vs mediocre amateur, you rather use good amateur.

Anyone noticed when Angemon digivolved to Mangaangemon the text around him says Holyangemon. Oops. Since he’s a angel I don’t see why the English dub couldn’t have him say Holyangemon

I believe this is footage from the Japanese Blu-ray edited to the U.S. dub (which is only available on DVD), hence the “Holy Angemon” text. Unfortunately, US dubs have a tendency to remove religious references. Ironically, Taomon from Tamers, which is about as explicitly religious as they come, was completely unaffected.

@@sillygostlyWell Taoism is nowhere near as big as Christianity is in America. It’s basically our primary religion, so we tend to be a bit cautious about ticking off the churches, especially since they will demonize anything that offends them. Even in the year of our lord 2023 there are still people burning D&D stuff because it is the Devil’s game…even though Monopoly exists and is literally a game about the deadly sin of Greed. Though honestly, MagnaAngemon sounds cooler while HolyAngemon sounds like a “Well no duh” sort of name. Of course it’s holy. It’s an angel for Pete’s sake. That’s like me being called “RegularHumanmon” or something. It’s just slapping something on while “Magna” actually conveys from name alone that it is stronger than Angemon.

Anyone else think it's funny that the french plant digimon digivolves into a kiwi bird without even growing? I know that it's similar for Gatomon digivolving from a puppy but atleast she got taller.

Kiwimon is a bit taller though, the difference isn't huge but based on that, I would estimate that maybe about ten centimeters? And yes, sometimes the next form isn't that big at all. WarGreymon was also always clearly smaller than MetalGreymon (until the 2020 anime was a thing), and Lillymon is also smaller than Togemon. And then, MarineAngemon was originally Zudomon's Mega form and they already have a massive size difference, now it's Vikemon though.

Fighting Ultimates or not I kind of hate how they nerfed Angemon/Magna Angemon later in season 2... hard to believe it's the same Digimon who stood toe to toe with Piedmon. But that aside I do love seeing two of my favorite Digimon in this battle in the Patamon and Agumon lines fighting together

To be fair, HolyAngemon wasn't even serious with these Mamemons because he couldn't use his Gate against them, it would be an instant kill move and they weren't meant to kill them. The regular Angemon struggled against them though, but mostly only after Giromon & MetalMamemon were taking him in 2v1. They basically outnumbered him, so this wasn't a fair match either.

I think Angemon could've beat Mamemon and/or BigMamemon even without digivolution, he just focused on taking MetalMamemon who was the strongest of those three Mamemon (according to feats and also statement in the original version) and Greymon was fighting two weaker ones. And even then, MetalMamemon was only able to take him after Giromon held Angemon in place (meaning it was practically 2v1 fight). Before Giromon's arrival, it was pretty much a stalemate between MetalMamemon and Angemon (meaning they were about equal in terms of power).

Angemon is a Vaccine type, Myotismon was a Virus type, and Mamemon is a Data type. Vaccine types are strong against Virus types but weak against Data types, so it would have been harder for Angemon to fight these bomb guys since his attacks are not as effective on them. (Similarly, Myotismon would have had an advantage while fighting them since Virus digimon are strong against Data digimon).

@@abduljah9355 Yeah, although these attributes sometimes didn't mean much otherwise in Adventure. For example, Zudomon was a Vaccine Digimon but he easily beat MegaSeadramon, a Data type Digimon. And Greymon also easily bested Data Champions such as Shellmon & Tyrannomon but he had more trouble against Virus ones such as Ogremon, Devimon, and Devidramon. So I think it was more that these Mamemons weren't demon type, or it was simply PIS.

I would guess that the 4 surplus digimon are The 2 Evilmon and The 2 Gazimon they all have their own partners but because Evilmon can fly and Gazimon are so fast they got to the scene long before their partners

Giromon was tough, he easily matched Angemon in combat.. this was impressive considering how strong Angemon is.

Don’t forget Giromon is an ultimate level and Angemon is a champion level It’s more impressive that Angemon can take on ultimate level

@@csmith3248 However, Angemon was always a very strong Champion, even when his opponent wasn't a Dark Digimon. For example, when Angemon faced Guardromon (who isn't a Dark Digimon) he defeated him just by hitting him with his rod. And I think Angemon could manhandle other Champions about as easily as Etemon did. And he seemed about as strong as Andromon, going with Piedmon fight. However, since Piedmon is a Dark Digimon, I would see that Andromon is naturally a bit stronger than Angemon because he didn't have the same advantage vs Piedmon. That's why it was quite convincing that Giromon was able to match with him rather casually.

@@csmith3248 I think evolution was still more than necessary even though it became curbstomp fight then. I mean, Angemon was able to face both MetalMamemon and Giromon in 1v1 situations, but clearly couldn't handle both of them at once. And Greymon was able to tank hits from Mamemon and BigMamemon but he still wasn't able to do much to them other than momentarily knocking BigMamemon into Seine. The reason why Greymon lasted so long is that his durability (or at least his pain tolerance) is pretty good for his level. So it looked like they were still short of beating them in 2v4.

And now that I'm thinking it, I think that MetalMamemon probably would have beaten Angemon even without Giromon's help. Angemon mainly gave him trouble just because of his speed. MetalMamemon didn't take much damage vs Heaven's Knuckle, only Base Mamemon screamed in pain. Then again, MetalMamemon's Energy Bomb clearly hurt Angemon later and he also has a claw which could probably also harm Angemon in the close combat. So yeah, I'd say Angemon would definitely beat Mamemon or BigMamemon in 1v1, but MetalMamemon or Giromon is definitely more iffy. And the fact that MetalGreymon beat them all at once probably shows that MetalGreymon was even much stronger at that time than he was in season 01 (thanks for the experience). I guess Greymon just had many off-screen battles when he protected the Digital World from the Digimon Kaiser in the early half of 02, and that's why Greymon forms were so much stronger in 02.
