@@DigiBros Holy timely response!! :D Firstly, yay you didn't take my criticism negatively!! I Play a red deck, and unfortunately I only play with my friends and family at the moment, being a yellow / purple, a blue and a green deck. Although I haven't had a tonne of experience with other players with Digimon, I have played MTG, Pokemon, YuGiOh, DBZ, VS System, and Wow thoroughly. I use a system of 11/9/7/5 for rookies, champions, ultimates and megas. Making up 64% of the deck, with Options at 24% and Tamers at 12%. With the other decks varying, but having near similar numbers. I see most people online using decks with very very few Option cards and Tamers in comparison. I'll be the first to admit every deck is different and has a different flow, my concern is most people ignoring options. Things like Shadow Wing, Great Tornado, Nuclear Laser and Gravity Crush are nowhere to be seen on the whole. And yes, NL & GC don't have security effects at all, but Shadow Wing gives all your Digimon Security +1 on your turn if hit in security. Otherwise its 3k for 1 memory, making that 7k Ultimate hit for 10k , statistically higher than the majority of Digimon. I primarily find the lack of Options and to a lesser extent Tamers interesting, as they present all kinds of unique synergistic options for decks, but primarily from what I've personally seen, large amounts of Digimon seem to be the common style; and not just in yours, but many other posted decks and KZbinrs.

@@DigiBros Is there a card limit in order to make a Deck?
@game84cube3 жыл бұрын
I just got my hands on a lot of cards and I came here for some insight on what to do about building decks. Sadly, I don't have a level 7 and I have no choice but to mix colors, as I don't have enough of one color to make a full deck. My collection has potential, but I just need to make sure I know how colors work off each other. I wanna work with black cards because I have a great combo with Kuburimon into ToyAgumon, then Greymon, then MetalGreymon, up to HiAndromon. Reboot seems to be the main style of the Inherited Skills (which I'm assuming stay on the field when you Digivolve) and I'm seeing effects like Jammer and Security Attack +1. Not to mention I have 2 Chuumons, and that effect seems busted. What color would you recommend I build along with the black cards?
@FabschOblivion6694 жыл бұрын
I am a firm believer that 12 is the minimum amount of rookies EVERY deck should run. Most decks I've seen run 14, which is honestly my favorite number for rookies, even though the amount of rookies mostly depends on the deck you're playing. But it always has been between 12 or 14.
@DigiBros4 жыл бұрын
We completely agree. Lately 14 has been the most comfortable ratio of rookies!
@Runhurd2 жыл бұрын
I am still new to the digimon card game, but I try it on the phone app to learn how to play, and I got some cards for christmas I do like it. thought I am only gonna focus on Renamon sets and Gatomon Sets [as well as their Dark black versions, hope a black Renamon set come out hehe] but after watching your video, I think I got the idea how to make a deck now like this right? 1: 50 cards per deck 2: level 3, to 12, 14, 18 3: level 4. to 12 4: level 5, to 10 or less 5: level 6, 4, to 6 6: level 7, 2 to 4 7: option cards, fill out the rest of the number you need to make it 50 adding all digmon and tamer cards 8: Tamers, 4 to 8 9: Digitama, 5
@DigiBros2 жыл бұрын
Yes that is an average number of each level to insure that you are able to see each level. However some decks are different. For example tamer focused decks play up to 20 tamers. Security control decks can play up to 30 option cards. So it’s really just depends on the deck. For both Gallantmon and Sakuyamon I recommend just looking up some deck profiles on KZbin to get a feel for the ratios that they play and go from there!

Great explanation for us who are starting in the game. Have you changed your mind about tamers now that many digimon digivolve on top of them?
@DigiBros2 жыл бұрын
When we made the video hybrids (digimon that evolve onto of tamers) we’re not in the game yet. So now the ratio of cards have changed, but that is also dependent on the deck. Some decks need more tamers then others and some don’t even play any. Just player preference and deck choice.
@Kodiak_P3 жыл бұрын
How do the colours factor in? Can you mix colours? What determines what colour your deck is? Do you just pick a colour and just use cards that match?
@DigiBros3 жыл бұрын
You can mix colors however you want. The only draw back is option cards. To play an option you need a card on the field with the same color with it be a Digimon, egg, or tamer.

@6:34 How do those work outside of their respective colors? The rulebook says no effects on a digimon flipped up as a security check can activate unless it specifically says it's a security effect which none of those 3 say they are. Is that how they're being played in Japan? o.O
@DigiBros4 жыл бұрын
All three of them have when played effects, so you get the effects of them when played from the hand!
@Auron39913 жыл бұрын
I actually tend to use a 12/12/8/8 baseline for Digimon. It may be my own personal hang-ups, but rookies seem too vulnerable to natural counterplay and the base nature of the game, so I'm not comfortable with using them to fill out slots.
@DigiBros3 жыл бұрын
My ratios have changes slightly since we posted this video so I'm not against running numbers like that. I just prefer running at least 14 rookies to try and increase the chances of having on in your opening hand. But in certain decks, like shinegreymon and Ulforce, you have to run 12 rookies because the tamers take up so much space. Thanks for commenting though! It's always cool to see how others are building their decks.

@UltraMagna893 жыл бұрын
Completely depends on your needs. Like I bought 2 each of the purple black and green starters. And then bought a few singles to complete the black deck the way I want. But if you know exactly what you want to build you could just as easily build a deck from scratch.

Right now color mixing isn’t the best outside of rookie rush. In the February set color mixing will be a lot better cause a lot of Digimon can evolve from different colors.

You can have as many different colors in your deck that you like. The only restriction is for option cards to be played you must have a card if the same color on the field. Unless the option card states otherwise.

You mentioned how crucial memeory is ans shortly after said dont even bother playing tamers snd sais starter Tai is useless. From my experience thus far, memory choke is detrimental and I run 6-8 tamers with memory reset so i can immediately play one to avoid being slowed down.

The one thing that really bothers me is that it seems extremely strange to have mismatched evolution lines. Evolving Omnimon from a Phoenixmon is just...Wrong. Though I am seeing some evolution lines have synergy to them if you follow canon evolutions, as the inherited abilities stack up. On a cursory look, the entire ShineGreymon line runs off having multiple yellow tamers in play, so there's an obvious synergy there. I think it's fine to be able to have whatever evolutions you want, but flavor is important to me in these card games.
@MissingNovice3 жыл бұрын
I think that's mostly a thing fans get from the anime, since thats the tentpole of the franchise, but the v-pets and most of the videogames really lean into the idea that digimon have multiple different possible evolution lines which they can go down under different circumstances. I think the anime sticks to giving the characters specific evolution lines mostly for the sake of giving the characters a defined identity and role. Since the franchise originally came to being as a tamagochi spinoff though, the idea of multiple possible forms was the original intention.

If you are looking at sealed product then yeah it is quite pricey but as far as singles go they really aren’t too bad at all. I’d say it’s cheaper than a lot of other games, as far as singles go. There are several decks like rookie rush, green and some variants of purple that you can pick up for under $100 which is a great deal for a competitively viable deck.

I've gotten way more into MTG since it's obvious it's now the most resilient card game when it comes to the company running it.
