Surprisingly, not many blue decks topped in CoreTCG's regional this weekend. I've personally been exploring a build with Metalgarurumon and have found some interesting and unique ways to play the deck. As always, this isn't a perfect deck list for anybody to play and most of the tech choices are tailored to my personal play style and local meta. Which elements are you fan of, and which are you not?

Nice! In my build, I run one copy of BT6 Matt and one Gabubond (since Gabubond can also be targeted for search from BT15 Matt), giving some nice added bounce effects and a late game warp if I need it

What do you think about the BT7 weregarurumon? Somewhat okay with the on play and play 1 blue tamer or gain two memory to set you up for a metalgarurumon ace turn two plus the unsuspend to gain 1 memory making the new X Antibody weregarurumon a free Evo or possibly getting 1 memory while climbing the stack.

I omitted BT7 Weregarurumon because this Digimon is strictly on play. In Jumbo Control, it's different because you have ways to play it back out. Unless you're running Kaiser Nail in the build I'm not too much of a fan of this particular Weregarurumon. Could you use it? Yes. But handing so much memory for the tamer play isn't worth it in my mind. Even if you play Matt Ishida (keep in mind the tamer must be blue), even if Matt Ishida adds a card to your hand, you won't gain any additional memory because this tamer only gains the memory when a DIGIMON EFFECT adds a card to your hand.

I was with you until I saw you weren’t running any BT15 Melga. That card is too good and gives the deck actual option protection (only deletion protection, but still). Plus the warp effect is too good to pass up

The warp is the only one I haven't tested with yet. The four memory for me is where I find it at times problematic. The set up required is a little more, versus with EX1 or Metalgarurumon ACE I can keep turn even at 0 memory. The Evade and unsuspend is very good, I cannot deny that. But I feel like I'm also going to be sitting in the back more with this particular Digimon. Hope that makes sense!

@@DIGI-PANDA I see what you’re saying, I just think it’s better now with the current meta to not rely as heavily on clearing their security with one stack. A mix of Aces and Security options will put a lot of pressure on that plan. Levia X just makes your life impossible if you’re banking on clearing security easily. Personally, I love being able to hard drop a BT5 Gabu, then tap Matt(s) to keep turn then just warp into BT15 to immediately respond to opponent board clearing

​@@DIGI-PANDA as a whole, the warping is a good come back mechanic. I've won so many games after my first stack went down just because of that.

I'm trying to find a reason why many people don't run only 4 eggs: 1 Buka and 3 tsuno. 1st: we can totally agree on Buka being completely better than Tsuno. 2nd: almost every deck runs only 4 eggs (mostly the same ones), so we can say that a 5th egg is not truly necessary. Then 3rd: if we can run 4 eggs and be ok, why don't we run 3 tsuno and 1 buka (as it maximizes our chances of finding buka)?

For me in particular, I'd go 4 eggs in my locals where sec con is prevalent. But also in a meta right now where you have security bombs that can wipe your board or Digimon that can do it as well, sure you might find Bukamon faster, but if you run out of eggs, you're going to be playing Digimon out on board without that raise protection.

@@DIGI-PANDA i know that the possibility exists, but I rarely even get into the 3rd egg when playing tournaments. The meta is too quick right now.

@@mikearrondo I also find that by the time I’m at egg 3 or 4, I’m almost out of cards in deck. So a 5th egg wouldn’t really come up for me
