Omg my friend, I’ve been hoping my DT can record your live actions and you just showed that it can! I asked other YTers and they thought that couldn’t be done. So thank you! I’m referring to 9:50. Know if I can do that with the filter pass too?? Omg this is exciting!
@SlowHaste2 жыл бұрын
Yes, yes you can! It locks the value that the knob is at per step, so it isn't going to necessarily be a "smooth" change between values, but you can indeed record in the knob turn, I do it all the time.
@neonpop802 жыл бұрын
@@SlowHaste Ohhhh.. this isn't global parameters though right?
@neonpop802 жыл бұрын
@@SlowHaste It doesn't seem to work properly when I try it with filters. Seems to record over the first bar twice. And these effects don't work over pattern chaining either. I guess it has its limits...
@SlowHaste2 жыл бұрын
@@neonpop80 awww no, you can’t parameter lock the ctrl all function :( I realized you also commented on another one of my vids to ask haha. It would be fantastic if that was a feature, but you can only record p-locks for one track at a time
@SlowHaste2 жыл бұрын
@@neonpop80 yeah every hardware certainly does have limits!! If you’re interested in more effects-centric/global parameter manipulation, the Octatrack really excels at that! I have some videos on my channel going over some of those features, too.

Oh gosh yeah that’s a whole other issue, I think I’ve seen that in every DT video! My film light was actually flashing like crazy while I was shooting but you really can’t tell on the recording luckily

Excellent vid! Curious-- there aren't any videos on this (from my searching). Can you connect a simple MIDI keyboard to the Digitakt (Keystep, etc), and record into the MIDI tracks in realtime (say, controlling a desktop synth like a Volca Keys)...? There are literally no videos about this. However, when people connect a keyboard to the Digitakt, they often play the audio tracks (1-8), or they input chords in step-time to the MIDI tracks. Any chance you could do a video showing how to connect a proper keyboard to record chords and melodies in real-time? I'm sure it will help a lot of Digitakt beginners or curious parties out there. Thanks! Subbed!
@SlowHaste3 жыл бұрын
Hey, thanks so much for watching/subbing! In all honestly, I haven’t connected any external gear to the Digitakt, aside from the Digitone recently. Admittedly, MIDI knowledge is something that I’m generally lacking in, in terms of hardware. That said, I believe Cuckoo has a bit of a MIDI crash course at the end of his Digitakt mega tutorial that may be of use (if you haven’t watched that already). And I agree, I’ve tried it look up what I thought was relatively basic MIDI stuff online and it can be hard as hell to find specific answers. Definitely let me know if you’re able to find anything that helps!

i have never updated, but id like to. should i be worried about losing my projects and sounds? do i need to back them up first?

Backups are always a good call, but I didn’t have any issues (and haven’t heard of anyone else) when I did the update! It’s totally worth it IMO

looking for my first drum machine should i go for TR-8S or Digitakt?
@SlowHaste3 жыл бұрын
I’ve never used the TR-8S, but I will always support the Digitakt. That said, it might be a lot if it’s your first drum machine (unless your familiar with samplers/sequencing in general)! I’d definitely check out the manual before committing.

Thanks for the feedback! I was recently partnered and the KZbin ads are auto placed on my videos, so I will have to take a look at the settings to reduce them.
