In this video, I break down how I edited various modular synth pad samples within the Digitakt to create this piece:
• Digitakt and Eurorack ...
I've been curating my modular synth for a couple of years now, but only recently started using it in tandem with the Digitakt. I hope this video gives you ideas for how to apply sound-design principles inherent to the Elektron workflow, particularly using longer-form samples for unique and interesting results!
Also, definitely let me know if you'd be interested in a modular sample pack. I've been toying with the idea of creating a Patreon down the road, and want to hear from you what sort of content you'd find appealing!

For some reason it made me really happy when you mentioned Doug, lol. I was like 22 when that show was out, and I absolutely watched it every day with my then-boyfriend, lol. It was so pure.

Haha yes!! Doug was very present in my childhood, taught me a lot before I knew it would ever be important.

Lovely in depth tutorial. I found this really interesting. And that melody of the guitar sample is lush, I can see why you were happy when you came up with that.

Thank you!! Yes, I always find some of my favorite results come from setting up random parameters (within reason) and letting the machines do their magic.

This is really inspiring. You really have a deep understanding on how to handle the digitakt. This will come in handy as I just bought a digitakt. I already have a small modular system with an instruo arbhar for processing and an arturia microfreak which I'm planning to sample both. For now still struggling through the manual :)

Ahhh that sounds like an amazing setup! I’ve always wanted an Arbhar but wasn’t able to get one, and ended up with a morphagene instead (which I love)! Glad you found the video useful!

I’m curious, why the fake side-chain to the kick rather than just actually using the side-chaining that’s available on the device?

Good question! I use both - with the LFO you can more finely tune things to your liking for each track, and use it as more of an “effect” than a mastering tool.
