I don't think I've ever read in the Security+ or CISSP "we don't actually send our public key". In the examples shown it's often the opposite! Very misleading of them. Thanks for the clear explanation.

You did a good job of explaining all this. The only minor flaw is that typically a normal everyday user like Alice wouldn't go to a CA to get a certificate, but a business entity (e.g. the bank) would.

at 8:06, Alice is said to decrypt the certificate from the baddie using the CA's public key. but how is this possible? the Baddie doesn't have the CA's private key and could only encrypt the bogus certificate with its own private key. Then how could Alice decrypt the certificate with the CA's public key? im confused

Good explanation but one doubt (time 8:03 in this video), you tell that if badie sends his digital certificate, Alice decrypt using server's public key? how does that possible?

Please cover how this applies to enterprises intercepting and reading ssl over a proxy. all I know is they decrypt traffic for security reasons, to accomplish this they insert their own cert in the trust store.

Around 6:30 you say that the CA encrypts all the information Alice sent. Are you quite sure? I thought that the CA only encrypts the hash of what Alice sent. This encrypted hash is the certificate's signature. The certificates themselves are not encrypted.
