Watch Buggy get so close to death's door that he can practically taste it, only to slip and fall over one of his Buggy Bombs, causing a chain reaction that somehow takes out all the other combatants in the area, maybe even also saving one or two other major members of his crew. This is seen as a brilliant move by his underlings and raises his legend even further, so much so that even Crocodile and Mihawk now respect him and actually choose to fight for him rather than just showing up out of pity. Buggy can literally not stop falling upward, no matter how hard he tries.

Actually, his Awakening could make him chop up inanimate objects and manipulate them like his body. For example, if a cannonball was fired at his ship, he could literally place his hand on the ship and split it to dodge the cannonball. Or to go further, he can split other people (since Eustass Kidd's Awakening can magnetize humans)

Buggy’s fall upward is one of the most cathartic aspects of the series. Every time I think it won’t get any crazier for Buggy, Oda manages to raise the bar. Buggy is an opportunist who's constantly falling upwards and I feel like he definitely wasn't expecting this to happen, and I doubt he was expecting his plans to actually work. Somehow he's got a logia user and the worlds greatest swordsman on his side, meanwhile Buggy isn't actually that strong, he's just kinda your average dude. This captures that energy PERFECTLY.

Buggy's situation is worse than Pomni's. If nothing else Pomni is surrounded by people who care about her, and no one actually wants to hurt her, even Caine despite his zaniness means well. Buggy however finds himself in a position where pretty much everyone wants a piece of him, Crocodile and Mihawk are only protecting him because he happens to be useful, the second he is not they will dispose of him and find someone else to be a figure head.

Buggy always had a ton of potential, just locked in his own shell of fear and incompetency. A great showman for sure and has shown what Charisma can do - but now that he finally broke out of his damn shell and spewed out his dream; Buggy very well could have the potential to really be one of the strongest pirates and achieve the same strength as Shanks and Rojer. Not just falling upwards but actually get there. If only there was still a little bit more time left in the series to fit that training in and get Buggy to become a powerful ally to Luffy - no longer bound and locked away by himself and officially earn his place without fear.
