I have so many problems with streaming including the fact that my internet is never stable. But the biggest problem is the gone forever mentality! The biggest one that comes to mind is Hush is gone and never had a physical release.

This is the main reason I collect physical media. When I was in high school (~2011 or so) the family got a new desktop computer and somehow in the process my entire itunes library got deleted. Strangely enough it just popped back up when I was setting up my new phone this year, but it was nowhere to be found in the meantime. I have not trusted digital media since. Physical all the way!

I never liked the idea of "buying" the rights to to stream an individual title. Although I would not recommend recommending that people backup their physical media, but I personally choose that route so that I can have the best of both worlds for personal use (no shareszees).

Even if they delete my Plex account which has most of my movies on, I still have all of them on DVD and Blu Ray.

i agree that physical means ownership (at least for music and movies, with modern games is a different story) but digital has some benefits, it also depends on the company we are buying from, i have a huge digital library of games on steam, gog, xbox/pc and movies on the microsoft store, i have never lost a single one, steam even allows to download games that have been delisted as many times we want, like the og trilogy of GTA on pc in fact, the only game i cannot play anymore is a physical copy of the crew for xbox one, ubisoft shut down the servers and a connection is required even for the single player mode, now is just a coaster but all copies of the crew are useless now (digital or physical) on all platforms

Yea I never understood that why would a single player game. Need to be connected online to a server to play it. When it's a single player thing that has no need for anything online. If it's on a physical disk that always made no sense to me.

Yup i sure bet on the wrong horse with digital. Don't get me wrong thomdigital has its place. My favourite movie is The Abyss instead of playing the disc i can turn on the downliad, but its not wirrh the headaches.

Well it is no secret that this can be happend anytime and i don't like the idea to have no control of my Movie Collection and that's why i will never go digital for Collecting so why bother about this at all we know it better right yes it sucks when you paying for a Movie you really like and then on the next day you find out that is long gone 😒

Yup you can lose digital at anytime. Always important to have physical copies of what you want. It's why I won't go digital as well.

Before I watch the video I have to say this to the physical media collecting community. Because it's important if you come across or get recommended a KZbin channel called. Slipcover Steve do not watch any of his videos because he is not a physical media collector. He is a reseller an nothing more because in every single video. All he takes about is how much money something will go for later. Along with how much money he makes from selling things. Thats it for another example in a resent video he called vintage DVDs are not coming back then it says in the picture DVDs are dead. He talks about how according to him no one is buying DVDs because they have no resale value. Then in the comment section he literally and figuratively tells people to throw out everything except for Blu-rays an 4ks. Because they have more of a resale value so he is clearly not a collector. He is just a reseller but he goes around saying he is a collector. Because he only talks about physical media as money. He only buys what he can sell later for more money. I mean he literally and figuratively insults you if you say you like to buy DVDs or anything other than. Blu-rays an 4ks if you like physical books CDS vinyl records VHS bonus features an auto commentaries. To him you are not a real collector you are just looking for clut. He literally and figuratively referrers to you as a nerd an not a real collector. This is how toxic he is an why his Chennal should be avoided completely because the collector community. Does not need his toxic BS in it. He never says that he likes or loves anything or enjoys it. It's all about the money as in buy it now then wait X amount of time. Then sell it for triple or more the price. But since he goes around calling himself a collector his Chennal gets recommended to physical Media collectors. Even though all he is is a rude reseller an nothing more. I don't know but you may want to pin this comment. So people see it right away so they can avoid his Chennal. Because he's as toxic as all hell to the physical media collecting community. Because he does zero real research an if you give him the solid facts with evidence. He just goes your wrong.
