I lived on Koh Phangan (Ban Tai) for 12 years and all that glitters is not gold. But as a tourist you don't get to see the ugly side.

Thanks for a great video. Where is best to look to price up houses/apartments?
@joyoushapes11 ай бұрын
Happy you like it :) It depends on how long you want to book it for. Usually, I book for 1 month through Airbnb. However, if you specifically mean on Koh Phangan, I'd recommend booking a short stay in a hotel first. Then, see if the hotel owner knows someone who's renting out their place. Locals usually have more information on small islands. I checked, and there are many Airbnb listings on Koh Phangan if you're interested :)

Thanks for the video! If you're past your partying days and mainly want peace & quiet and to be able pick and choose when to be social, still be close enough to co working spaces does Koh Phangan suit that lifestyle?
@joyoushapes6 ай бұрын
Yes, I believe so! Even though Koh Phangan isn't a large island, parties aren't really centered in the livable areas where coworking spaces and housing are located. They usually take place in the forest or designated areas, or on the east side of the island during the full moon party 😊

Where do you find your accomodation for that price? $250 I’m looking to come spend a month in Koh Phangan, I’m going to Phuket first because it’s affordable for 1 month.

I check on Airbnb for monthly stay, they often come m with monthly discounts. Otherwise I also find places on Booking.com and then contact the stay directly through their website as it might be cheaper (usually platform like booking charge about 20% on top). Hope this helps

Hello and thank you. My inquiries regarding renting scooters is that's its illegal to ride bikes over 50cc unless you have a full motorcycle licence. It seems everyone does it and if stopped the fines are small but the major issue could be that your insurance is invalid. Does anyone have any insights on this? Thank you :)
@joyoushapes2 ай бұрын
My boyfriend has a full motorcycle license, so he can rent even the big bikes. But when I used to ride my 125cc with my international driving license (for normal bikes, not big ones) it was fine, and I think it’s still the same. But you NEED an international driving license. You have to ask it to your town hall or the office that delivered your driving license 😊

Can you rely on your sim card there for work ? what's the speed like there on mobile ? is it stable?
@joyoushapes Жыл бұрын
Great question! I did rely on sim card and then for extra focus I chose co-working, but generally talking the sim car internet was stable and reliable. I can’t remember the mobile speed precisely but it was about 20-50 download mbps. But if you need to download I’d suggest to go to a coworking.

You don’t ‘have’ to have one but if u don’t get one u will just be pulled over and fined over and over , I was just samui / phnagang for a month and didn’t get pulled over at all, but I did have my license and probs didn’t pull as looked confident driver , they like to pull over tourists that don’t look confident on the bikes !
@joyoushapes10 ай бұрын
@@tobiaslaycock7758 the reason why you get fined if because it’s illegal to drive without driving license, so you do need one. I won’t recommend to play around with laws when traveling.
