Pardon me for observing the pronunciation of this good man. I am an ESL teacher, speech, drama, and a Dialect Coach for actors, shows.....and more.. He said 'like' often, which is poor speaking. We, the native speakers are 'models' for these ESL students. Seriously. He needs to improve his enunciation FIRST, and his diction, use of words.. This critique was not desired, I realize (I apologize for this hard honesty) ..but please, be an excellent speaker and role model for these earnest new English speakers, BEFORE you begin teaching them...

Tim's words: "someone should put you on a stage". I agree 100%, he's an excellent speaker. Any student would be so lucky to have him! Being likeable and inspiring confidence is FAR more important than a 'perfect' dialect. The use of "like" is how real natives speak. It's called filler words. We need more support for each other in this community, not putting others down!

I appreciate your honest feedback. Yet, I've learned that, often, students want to know how much you care rather than how much you know. Yes, I tend to use "uh and like" when I get excited; and I'm humble enough to admit, I have plenty of room for improvement. In addition, I actually have a lisp so some of my words may not be "enunciated" to your satisfaction. I grew up as an underserved youth, so your words are far less harsh than the reality I survived dealing with in physical confrontation at school when children used to tease me. However, I have helped hundreds of students feel more confident, ace interviews, and be more willing to make mistakes. I tell them the importance of being able express themselves clearly, not perfectly. The world I come from, it's about progress. I'd also like to say thanks to everyone else for your kind remarks.

@@JamesWatkins-sv3wt James, I’ll confess that I used the wrong word for “push” an elevator button for over a decade here in Taiwan 🇹🇼 before my Mandarin teacher caught the error! I still managed to find my way to my desired floors, though. I wonder if I should write the correct word on the chalkboard 100 times! Hey, where’s my dunce cap?
