Hey Joose, thanks for watching! Really enjoyed hearing your thoughts - I watched all your videos when we first went to Bali and started our digital nomad journey, and you probably helped us avoid some mistakes! :) - When we started we definitely traveled too much and moved around too much, even within the same country. As time went on, we learned that slowing down is the way to go ;) - Good point about meeting new people. We met a few people who we became really good friends with - but we didn't meet a lot of people. It's probably really 'easy' to just hang out with your partner, and maybe that's one reason. We really enjoy being back in Denmark and traveling when we want to - but we definitely aim to escape all the cold months here. Is being a part time digital nomad a thing? :)

Thanks Adam! Awesome to hear :) Good that you're enjoying your new way of living, I think lots of people, especially in the Northern Europe, dream about traveling to warm countries during the winter haha, while living in a familiar place with friends and family close by during the rest of the year!

I stopped digital nomadding because my own home is such a sweet spot and actually more cost effective than all these other exotic locations, Cape Town! I also lacked a partner, got over solo travelling. I totally get both perspectives. Lucky I can get the digital nomad pros by living at home. Think I would rather digital nomad 4 months of each year with a loved one.

I like your point of view, and prefer to go dig in for at least a month in most places. And sometimes I'd stay for the 90 days visa free, and then hit the country next door. Mostly I try to walk as much as possible, but recently I hired a local driver---quite a good deal for both of us, because he knew the place well. I've already exceeded my mandatory number of motorcycle accidents!

Travelling for long periods as a couple is different from travelling alone . Eventually Women want to settle in one place , perhaps start a family, close to family and friends for support . Not always the case but the exception doesn’t disprove the rule . One person may want to carry on being a travel nomad and perhaps the other doesn’t . Either one relents or they go their separate ways !

I think everything needs to be in balance. Working in Europe with only 4 weeks holiday per year is really not fun. You will miss alot, the potential new friends abroad, exotic experiences, good times, etc. But if you are traveling alot, the travel fatique will also hit soon or later. It would be perfect if i am able to live/work 6 months each in Europe and Asia.

I actually would like to do the same, half time in Europe and half time in Asia too, the only problem is finding remote jobs in Europe, since they are not so common, moreover there is some trend of coming back to the office in IT jobs 🥲 I'm also trying to build my own side business but it takes time and for now is only a cost and not making money😔

Your videos are very good and informative. I agree with your points. Also empirical studies have shown that what you said about "couples" is true as well. They are less active and contributive into their communities, do less charitable work, and are less social. All the best.

I think important than working 9-5 is that hours don't matter when you're doing something you really love. A painter doesn't think about how many hours he works. It just paints. Digital nomad lifestyle may be ok for people who like to travel and get to know new cultures but the problem is actually related to the Western system. Capitalism wants us to work, succeed and consume all the time. And European want more and more and they still complain about that. Although they have everything , still greedy.. probably they will go to the therapy. Even if you are a 9-5 worker or a digital nomad, the problem is in the system. Simple and humble lifestlye and helping another people is the key.

I see myself becoming a digital nomad, but I had a question. How do you handle all of the public health issues in the countries you live in? A lot of them have rabies, malaria, dengue fever etc. Do you have any health problems living in these countries? I remember when I went to Thailand for a 1 month holiday, I had to get all these vaccines, then was told to avoid mosquito bites and avoid animals etc etc.

@@JooseTheNomad What about with the food and water? When I was in Thailand and Vietnam I was avoiding the tap water, fresh salads and uncooked food, ice, and even then I still got diarrhoea in Vietnam. Do you get those problems living in South East Asia regularly? Or has your body adjusted? Do you eat fresh salads that could have been washed with the bad tap water? Do you eat whatever you want? I can't say I wasn't tempted at times, but I couldn't find a stable remote job for that to make it happen. The perfect job for me would be working for a game company, as many of them allow that type of remote or work from anywhere job. Unfortunately, as I work mainly for movies and Episodic TV, I couldn't break into the video game business. Oh, well.... maybe in another life then. 😅

Thanks you for your video. It is very interesting. I have some questions to ask you please as in our country its not that popular digital nomads. Me and my wife would really like to try it, but we don't know from where to start. Is there like a website for jobs for digital nomads? My wife is a teacher and i was in the army for 6 and a half years and 4 years as a firefighter, and because we only have basic knowledge of technology we always think it would be impossible to find something that suits us as most of the jobs we check are all very well into development, engineering, softwares etc. And we end up giving up on this dream. Are there jobs which are less complicated maybe for the beginning and then you advance later? Thanks 😊

btowhidi...agreed, but you don't have to put up with a manager that treats you like a number and doesn't give a crap about you, or have to deal with bad co-workers and typically are constantly being required to do more work/more hours without more pay. Basically you are a slave to their work. Working for yourself gives you more freedom but there is definitely more work involved and important decisions required but the benefits you receive far out weigh being a employee. If you are successful enough then you become the big boss and then hire people to do the work for you.

@@kylergeston I don’t disagree. If you are not happy in your job because of toxic environment and you are being overworked you should definitely work towards changing your situation. It’s just important to mention that every one has a different situation. A 9 to 5 is not for everyone being and your own boss (even tho that is an illusion in my opinion) is not for everyone either. However, people in the digital nomad space label 9-5 as absolutely toxic and it’s something you should escape. Which can be misleading to young people.
