From my library of cheap and ridiculous electronics from the 2000s comes a pocket sized digital voice memo recorder, the My Lil' Reminder. I am unsure of the brand or manufacturer. I remember my grandmother bought a pair of these units back in the early-mid 2000s. I suspect that she bought it due to my fascination with recording, I used to have a micro-cassette tape recorder that I used all the time.
The unit is powered by a CR2032 button cell battery. It has a very dim LED flashlight on the top, which seems to have mysteriously stopped working over the years. I seem to recall that it was able to record only 30 seconds of audio. The audio quality is much poorer than I remember it being. It was probably a little better than the average digital answering machine. The volume was also a fair bit louder, the speaker has probably started to spoil over the years.
This was really quite a ridiculous product. I remember the packaging or advertisement containing a picture of a woman listening to the device play back her grocery list in the supermarket. I just can't imagine legitimately thinking that this is superior to putting a piece of paper in your pocket.
