I’m at the point in my life rn where I value my free time, space and convenience - and to those factors, digital will always be the superior option for me. I’m not scared of a ‘digital apocalypse’ because I don’t think it’ll happen (or at least it won’t anytime soon), but if it did then I will have likely moved onto the next thing, or the next stage in my life. Rather than being paranoid and ‘prepping’ for such an occasion I’ll take less clutter any day. Sure - would be a bummer to somehow lose my purchases - but with the amount of stuff releasing in general (not just video games - I mean films, shows, books etc - the market is so incredibly saturated that it’s hard to keep up and it’s so easy to get lost in it all), and the amount yet to come over the next decade(s) - chances are I’ll only just have the opportunity to replay my absolute favourites as I’ll be far too distracted, and outside of that I will have a life that might yet demand more of my time. That said, I’m very sure most of the things I like now will be accessible in some way or another on the next platform, but in the worst case scenario if I’m desperate then I’ll resort to buying the disc on ebay - not the end of the world in the slightest.

I seen this back in '96 when I first got into emulation. Digital is going to be the future. Sign of the times. I always thought that digital was going to be the future way back then. From getting into emulation in 1996, and then listening to my very first MP3's back in 1997. Hell, even when DVDs were first released in '97, I mean the first word in DVD is Digital.

I tend to purchase games digitally these days (modern games), For retro, I have stuff on emulators and flashcarts.
